How does Martin run "only" 3:53 and not catch those guys. He's a 3:48 guy taking the baton far back but within catching distance. Was it really windy or rainy or something?
no rain, pretty sunny, not real sure about the wind but neither he nor Murphy really tried to close the gap during their first 800.

It's only April. NCAA champ Abel Teffra also "only" split 3:53, and he was 2s and 2 places back. Liam Murphy only ran 3:55, and he's already run 3:33.02 outdoors. Adam Spencer only managed 4:00. A little surprised because I'd think all 4 of them would be able to run a bit faster, although with all of those results considered, I'd say Spencer had a bad day and the rest had ok days. A Cornell guy ran 3:53 faster than Martin though so great day for him.
I wouldn't read too into it. I'm sure Spencer, and probably the other NCAA mile studs, are all looking at a much longer year with Worlds in September and USAs in July.
Good run from Green. A little disappointing from Martin and Murphy at home. Gotta wonder if either were saving a little bit for 4xMile/4x8 tmrw. Same goes for Teffra.

Blair Bartlett 9:13.6 to win 3000 over Addy Ritzenhein. Addy lead most of the 2nd half of the race but could not shake Bartlett who then kicked with 125 or so to go. Huge pr for Barlett - prior pr was 9:32 and 10:20 for 3200

I was wondering why I did not recognize the name...she is a hs sophomore and I do not see any XC results by her on Milesplit

Curious finish to the Boys 3000m. Three runners in a tight pack at the bell, then two 60s and a 67. 2nd-placer Will Sheets is headed to UVA, I believe.

The HSB 4x800 final was exciting, especially on the final lap. Rockhurst (MO) slingshot off the final curve to pass IMG Academy (FL) and St John's College (DC) to win, 7:33.83. SJC second in 7:34.26 and IMG Academy third in 7:34.45.

Bartlett put 7 seconds on Ritz after passing with 200 to go, according o the write up in the results. Absolutely insane kick
