In reality you would have a hard time spending the interest on a billion dollars anyway if you were buying normal things.
The billion please. If you have to live in poverty for years before you collect that wealth, then that's going to shorten your life span and you might not even make the distance. A billion dollars would quite easily give you a comfortable life for the rest of your life without ever feeling like your needs aren't being met.
