Better to be a deer on ice than a coward hiding at home in Norway.
Too funny.
So far this season, Jakob has raced and won...
- Euro XC championships
- Lievin indoor (world record)
- Euro indoor championship (gold x2)
- World indoor championship (gold x2)
...
Kerr could have been at any of these.
He wasn't.
So who is "hiding"???
😆😆😆😆😆
Hint: Jakob is interested in championship wins and world records, not running slowly at a novelty meet. That's what he's been doing this year.
Kerr seems uninterested in championships (having ducked three of them Dec 2024 - March 2025), instead prioritizing back-pf-the-pack finishes in slow races.
1:50. DFL. "I don't see myself losing many of these". Josh Kerr on GST.
He’s never looked too comfortable in an 800 to me. Looks like he’s sprinting to hit a 52 in good conditions, slower today. Tactically, it’s dicey stuff that doesn’t play in a high-level 800.
Ah yes, just how Kerr will be “hiding at home” during every diamond league meet this summer”.
GST sucks it’s just a money grab, Jakob wants to break world records and get medals, i.e. what counts in the sport
Why the negativity. World medals is what counts but other races like GST and DL:s are still good competitions.
For Kerr it will always be somewhat unattractive to fly to Europe just so that you can lose to a Jakob in a paced race. To win Jakob on his average day you as a challenger need to have one of your best days, especially if the race has a pacer to help with air resistance.
His antics really are off putting. I would like to cheer for another European, but he makes it very difficult. Coiffed hair and green silk suits are a bit unpalatable for most.
I lump him in with the Americans. He came through the NCAA system, is based in the US, has the arrogance of a stereotypical American, doesn't run European championships because he thinks those are beneath him.
Although the main Americans (Nuguse and Hocker) are not arrogant at all. The same goes for Fisher.
