feels like thats a weirdly comfortable place for her. Several of her best efforts this year on the track have ended solo. This 10k, the 15:19 flat track 5k and 4:24 mile
If you want to see her drop the hammer down on her competition you should see if you can somehow watch the ‘24 ACC XC championship. Check YouTube, flotrack, etc. it really is a powerful & masterful piece of running.

oh ive seen it i'm an nc state Alumnus. Very impressed with Hartman. I'm just saying its a little weird to be almost more comfortable ticking off fast splits by yourself than having runners around you to help you.
Are you sure they didn't mess up the time or something??? That's a whole 60 seconds faster than the track record and 67 faster than her PR!
Hartman's time looks correct and Naukot's splits were just corrected. When Hays ran 32:21 in 2023, she was 26:02 at 8000m. Tonight, Hartman and Naukot were, according to flashrsults, 25:09 and 25:55 at the same distance. Previously (5 min ago), Naukot's 8k split was 27:17, which didn't make sense.

nope she ran all 25 laps. Pacer was on prescribed 31:50 pace but Hartman decided that was not fast enough before 5000 in. Lapped all but one I believe.

Naukot's 8000m split previously showed 26:17, not 27:17 (my typo). Anyhow, it's fixed. Hartman stayed strong in the final 2k, keeping each 400 under 76 and closing in 72.

I was keeping an eye on 2nd and Hartman got within about 70 m of lapping her.
Hartman is going to smoke Valby’s record, she’s only a true junior.
I’m not sure that she will but I would like to see her do it.
Hartman is still raw as a runner. She still has a lot to learn about tactics. She also is on the younger end for juniors even though she redshirted a year. Once she figures it all out she’ll be awesome. She is already really good but has a lot more potential.

Hartman will have plenty of competition that is going to challenge her - regardless of whatever distance she wants to focus on. The NCAA has incredible talent right now, especially 400m on up.

Especially in the 10000m, I'd say. Comparing the times of the three FR who placed 2-3-4 tonight to the collegiate bests below, 31:XX should become much more routine in the near future.
She went with the 15:20ish pace for about 2800 and then faded badly
They train incredibly hard. She’ll be tapered down when it matters assuming no injuries.
she's struggled twice now coming off a championship for a quick turnaround between this meet and Boston last December. She might just need a bit more rest before ramping up again.
