Thought Sinclaire Johnson would run this race as well but did not enter. Presumably, she will go to Nanjing based upon WA rankings as she does not have the Q.

For the men, Houser & Prakel did not get the 3:50 Q so their go/no go status will be determined by WA rankings.

There is one more week to chase Nanjing Qs -- but don't know where that meet would be.

Needed 7:31.00. Picked up a PR 7:34.69.

Valentin Soca, recent CBU grad 2nd in 7:34.1 is an impressive result. He and Santiago Catrofe (13:05 on the track last year, 27:16 on the roads in January) can duke it out over the coming years for the title of “Uruguayan Distance GOAT.”

Wait: I don’t think he’s a “CBU grad” and might be running for them in the future, I don’t know. I just made a dumb assumption based on him being 22 and running this meet unattached (he will not be at NCAA indoors).

if by "hot" you mean extremely cold... unless you warm up for 2 hours straight so that you're available to race a PR at any time within a 90 minute window

Valentin hasn’t graduated yet. CBU doesn’t have indoors. He’s wears the old adidas singlet (Nike now).

If he doesn’t redshirt outdoors it makes things even more competitive.
