Back to the original question: why is there a problem with annexing Canada? It's basically the same as asking: why is there a problem with shoplifting? There are two basic answers:
(1) Because it's wrong.
(2) Because you might get punished for it.
Humans have been arguing for millennia about which is the "real" reason most of us obey rules and laws. Up until recently, the trend was in favor of the first answer. But over the past decade the argument in favor of the second answer has begun to look a lot more compelling. In that view, the only reason not to do bad things to others is the fear that they might do worse things to you. So if you're confident you can get away with it, you go ahead and shoplift or invade other countries or whatever.
Personally, I still subscribe to the first answer, and find the increasing prevalence of people like the OP to be literally the saddest thing (not sad as in pathetic, but sad as in depressing) I've encountered in my life.
In the realm of international relations, I think it has always been the second answer. But two world wars and the invention of nuclear weapons demonstrated an exponential increase in potential punishment. Massive increases in wealth, health, and living standards also raised the potential punishment of being a violent actor.
So people thought maybe they were doing #1, but really it has been #2 all along.
After 80 years of relative peace and increasing prosperity, however, people have started to forget how bad the punishment can be.

Reagan was exactly what you're saying Biden was. An aide once said that much of the time he thought he was making movie where he was playing that he was president. People loved him. If not for term limits he'd probably still be getting elected despite being dead.
Because it would be damn near impossible to do so given the terrain and the breadth of the territory. Any invader would inevitably get bogged down in the winter, and then you have to either pull back or figure out how to supply the forces. And you would have a lot of people with a strong outdoor culture who know how to survive who would quickly offer resistance as guerrilla fighters, and before you know it, you've got a Vietnam winter wonderland.

An actual president who claimed that he’d eliminate the national debt in eight years but saw it rise $7.8 trillion in four (and I don’t hold the 2020 spending and lack of revenue against him).
An actual president who for years said that he was going to have Obamacare replaced and a month before his re-election admitted that he only had a concept of a plan.
An actual president who told the American people and the world that he took no responsibility over the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States.

If the US is going to implode, I'm sure there will be some unconstitutional behavior leading up to the end. States can't leave, but we'll make an exception this time. More to follow. Canada just has to hang on, and it will grow in the rubble .
