its definitely her best record. I'm still surprised that Ramsden didn't beat the 4:24 last year
Ramsden I feel like was in sub-4/4:20 shape for 5-6 months last year and just never hit the right race. She will PB quickly as a pro I think.
definitely should. looking back at it, the 4:24 she ran at millrose qualified her for world indoors and she chose to go that route instead of another race at BU. She still ran a 4:25 at NCAA's.
Nielsen, Chamberlain, May and a few others seem poised to take it down anyways
With the 3k on day 2 of NCAAs, expecting Lemngole, Olemomoi, Bunnage, and Kosgei to all compete. No runaway win like last year.
However, I'm more and more appreciating Tuohy's 8:35 CR. That's way out there. No one else has broken 8:40. Was Katelyn ever on a roll that winter.
Actually, that Armory performance was unusual, in that it was an exceptional level of performance that sticks way out as something she had never come close to before or since.
Halladay-Lowry is a year older than Valby, and Valby ran faster 13 months ago on that BU track than Halladay-Lowry did today.
Their arc of progression is starkly different. Lowry has developed much later. She's got a higher ceiling
How can you possibly conclude she has a higher ceiling? That’s ridiculous, considering Valby has not yet lived and trained at altitude full-time for significant length.

some might think winning XC, setting mile and 3000 records, running 4:22 DMR leg and then winning NCAA 5000/3000 was "on a roll"
Cool double from Tyler Mathews of BYU winning the 800 in 1:47.27 at 12:10pm, and then coming back to win the 500 in 1:02.75 at 1:05pm. That 500 must have felt harrrrrrd.
