Anybody know if wejo is ok? It seems very out of character for a brojo to make a post asking for feedback then completely disappear

If you recall I proposed the + - feature to be added.

I think it's fun but I'm also ok with it being eliminated.

If you have + - features added to each user it becomes too much like Reddit.

This place isn't a popularity contest. Some posters are just not liked and even if they bring forward insightful info. they get downvoted.

So if you implement what Kvothe was suggesting I think it makes this place a popularity contest and that's not the point.

I have no insight into this. I don’t believe in trying to chase people around whose response is over the top aggressive, but your observations are not wrong!

My apologies for being away from this thread.

I'm going to answer as I go through these.

1) For most posts that are deleted (not threads) the mods review the reported post and decide to keep or delete the post. If the post is deleted 95% of the time it's going to be the reason that the person who reported it selected even if they mod has a different reason. Not a perfect system but it is faster this way.

2) If a thread is deleted because it was reported you will see the reason as in #1 above. However, mods can also just delete a thread straight up in the index. These usually are spammy threads, non-running threads, etc. I guess we could add "moderator disreciton" instead of having it not give a reason. Would you prefer that? But essentially "no reason given" means "moderator discretion"

This goes way back. Someone would just post MAGA MAGA MAGA MAGA MAGA MAGA in tons of posts and it was an attempt to stop that.

I for sure have deleted posts that make me laugh that violate the rules but think the mods should for posts that are borderline leave up posts that are funny.

We had Thoughtsleader on the pod today as the top poster of 2024 and I was wondering if we should somehow show vote totals for posters.

As for prediction contests, for the most recent NCAA won we updated and sent out an email right away. we haven't recapped it on the site however.

Why do you care about these silly up/down votes? I can guarantee I get 2 down votes every time I post. Even in the middle of the night I'll post, then within minutes two psychopaths down vote me before I have a chance to pee. The same two guys, night after night, day after day. Really scary when you think about it. This is the kind of sh!t that goes on in middle-school lunchrooms. You actually think this is beneficial?

Another example, whenever the Deno stalker posts, within minutes there are 6+ upvotes, presumably from multiple logins. Nobody supports his crazy sh!t.

The only thing that would add value and improve the boards is registration only posting.

I realize that every forum has moderation headaches, but the moderation here truly is bad.

I created a thread the other week asking people which deleted thread they would most like restored. It was full of really great suggestions, the reason being because so many great threads have been deleted in the past for no apparent logical reason.

And, of course, your mods deleted that thread.

There appears to be no consistency with the moderation, including on doping threads.

One poster claimed recently to be a mod and stated that it is against the rules to make any doping accusations.

You need to bring in some accountability and oversight for your mod team. Surely with all the money you must be making from the ads, you can employ one person to reveiw any controversial thread deletions at the end of each day?

I'm just wondering how you are going about this. You guys would be dream seatings at a poker table because you always, yes, always, flash your cards. I hoping you are not telling the Nico hater what words trigger your attention. Just say deleted and banned, nothing more. I simply set up a tab on my browser dedicated to a unique word that snares him. Then I go to my production line and nuke him.
