Wow, 10 replies in a row. That must be some new record. I’m not going to read all that, but just wanted to acknowledge the effort that must have gone into so much text in the middle of the night.

Same poster as the Physics handle on this thread. Strikingly odd behavior- let's hope it's not truly someone being serious.
This is what I was trying to get at earlier. It is actually common to see elite athletes with lower max heart rates. That's why it's hard to know the exact effort of someone like Fisher doing this long run with a low-140s heart rate. It's definitely on the easier side. It's very possible he can't get his heart rate as high as non-elites can. Everyone's built differently. You tend to see elite athletes with crazy low heart rates to begin with.
The most impressive thing about sweetheart is the ability to single-handedly reverse American distance running by a half century and expose how bad the present generation of runners are just because they have to be dirty to be good. Truth be told Grant might never actually be better than Amby Burfoot and Alberto Salazar in their prime.
why would a fellow of hallowed CERN be preoccupied with mundane unprospectable mod jobs on LRC? can't he just be sincere about ridding the sport of fisher due to dubious fisher circumstances?
Fisher is a polite boy but I do feel sometimes his eyes betray him and he is not at ease with his conscience. It could be the drugs as you and the Physicist say. Btw I built the second largest hadron collider just saying

I don’t get why are people interested in this athlete. He is illegitimate in my book 📖! 15:22 for footlocker xc yet is outlasting and outrunning and out training Chris Derrick (14:57) and German Fernandez (15:07) into his late twenties and not slowing down at all!! How doped up is that?
Chris and German didn’t even win the footlocker race in 2007 and got trounced by A LOT by an even crazier Brazier-like talent in Michael Fout who coasted easily to a 14:50 win over then both. And what happened to him? His career was even shorter than both Chris and German’s. How is Fisher not dead at 26?
LRC is finding it harder and harder to justify this illegitimate athlete.😞
I can recognize Khamis when I see him
New account?
And do you care to tell us by what objective enough metric do you observe the correlation or is it something much more intangible feeling? Feelings are not all bad and it may be true that the only way to know the truth is by pure feel. I always hearken back to Kerr’s golden advice when he is racing. He says he can sense the tiniest body language of his competitors and he sensed the lull in Jakob both in Budapest and in Paris and proceeded to outrun him. Himself admitted it’s all about being in the moment. Are you in the moment too?
Then how would somebody joking around sound like? This board censors foul vulgar language so we wouldn’t be able to judge somebody’s seriousness based on use of language. It would be different if however somebody steers out with an disclaimer stating his post is all a joke. I haven’t seen that.

It’s on the easier side after accounting for high altitude, about 130 thereabouts. He has too much baby fat on his cheeks and thighs though.

Good point but that poster said his resting HR was 34 which is quite rare. He must have been blasting those intervals to get his HR to 208. Your point is taken - elites may have hearts conditioned to stay relatively low even under high work loads (fast long running). There must be some studies on max HR of distance runners under high load.
Are you trolling? The insiders know why Derrick and Fernandez didn't pan out. Rupp panned out because he is basically the opposite type of person as them.
Fisher was brought along slowly in high school. Didn't quit soccer until junior or senior year and still stayed pretty low on mileage and training. In college, Milt brought him along slowly, even when outsiders would criticize Milt for "not developing him."
It's also well-documented that Milt had to have "the talk" with Fisher about whether he wanted to be great at running or school. He was still running about 50-60 miles per week then.
Then he goes to Bowerman and gets his butt whooped for a year or two while he adjusted to "real" training. Now look at him. This is what an athlete looks like who had a long term plan, just like Rupp. Fernandez was expected to light the world on fire with his 3:55 freshman year. Derrick never really wanted to work all that hard for a long time. Fout? The dude chose to run for FSU or something, that should tell you all you need to know about him.
Milt brought along Derrick just as slowly as with Fisher and could have won more titles and positions than Fisher had he not been running in the era of other great NCAA runners like McNeil, chelanga and king ches. His own Stanford teammates were also very good as him and competed with him for titles and positions.
Fisher’s era was much more emasculated and impotent in terms of star studded talent and power. His titles and positions carry much less convincing than those of Derrick’s.
Fisher is really not cut out for distance running except a chance encounter with one Jerry Schumacher who saved him from ignominy with the sauce!
Milt did not coach derrick, he was at georgetown when derrick was at stanford. Derrick was coached by jason dunne in college
majority of the guys on LRC have strong American bias. all the downvotes are from the American continent. nobody from eu, oceania or Asia pacific would ever bother to conscientiously tap the downvote button. when somebody says something bad about American athletes most notably precious darling boys like fisher you have a dozen strong team of American patriots defending him come what may.
what I find strange is how in defending fisher they also seem to cast shade at one of their own Americans like derrick and Fernandez by calling them uncommitted and lacking in discipline or talent
just cause the elites jog around at 7:00 a lot of the time doesnt mean that they have to. Im pretty sure CJ albertson does his 20milers at 5:00 with a HR of like 150
How many names are you going to post under to upvote and agree with yourself?
Who ever the person is… he/she is a complete loon and jealous of Grant Fisher.
In summary; a severe under achiever fixated on trying to undermine the greatest US distance runner.
Grant Fisher will continue to achieve great results through his hard work, dedication, talent and smarts. All the while impacting the sport of track and field in a positive way.
I’d say this is inaccurate because 4 min mile is only slightly faster than his 5k pace (4:06). If you’re a proper miler (not a 5k and above guy going down to the mile), then your easy pace will be no where near 5:22 assuming 4min mile capability

Mike Smith? Long term plan, even for a generational talent like German Fernandez? Lol
