If and when their contracts become public it would change things. Through other businesses I’ve been involved in a constraint of trade lawsuit would probably win. Probably be a trust case as well. Whoever said some are employees for health insurance I doubt it. Too many states make it illegal to forbid employees to discuss their wages and benefits. They are in Colorado. Definitely not allowed there. 30 years ago I didn’t allow my employees to discuss their wages and tips on the floor. ( I ran casinos). My belief (doesn’t matter if you agree with it for this point) was we were in the entertainment business. Customers didn’t come to listen to my employees moan about their tips. At some point that became illegal in Colorado. I don’t remember when. Basically it was the unions that got the law changed arguing it was a constraint of trade holding down their wages.
I’ve said for a long time imagine if no one knew nfl or nba salaries. The first pick would probably be happy to hear he was going to make a million a year. (Admittedly these leaves out the agent’s knowledge).
