Environmentally irresponsible. Normal tax payers will have to pay a lot of money to poorer countries at COP24. This woman and others like her should be forced to pay it instead.
Really? Caring about something like that isn't something I understand at all.
And that's why global warming is a thing. Human arrogance and ignorance. Give me your address I will send a few polar bears around to talk some sense into you.
Leave it to a bunch of soy boy avocado toast lovers to turn an amazing human feat into a crime against the environment… if this was a routine thing by hundreds of thousands of people, then yeah, but it’s not. Just climb back into your tents and put Rusted Root on blast to cope harder.
Cole Is Running just smashed his 10k PB and ran a 30:20. Was surprised to see this given he fractured his femur in February and ran a 73:14 HM in September. A big improvement, keep grinding.
But it's not just about these runners is it, it's about any kind of energy use that isn't renewable. I'm doing my best to get everywhere on a bicycle, recycle everything properly, eat local stuff, and everybody else couldn't give a toss.
Let's show your grandkids this post in 50 years and they will see what an ignorant moron you are.
Literally and idiot could do this. It’s not impressive. Slow peope just run more to pretend they are cool. also iron me. Are jokes. You are all slow middle age men with egos that’s are dumb.
im not impressed with your fat body crawling in the water and on a bike and running a 4:30 marathon hahahahaahahahahahshahah
I remember hearing Wardian talk about doing this at the Missoula Marathon in 2017. He averaged 2:45 for all 7, with Antarctica being his slowest (still sub-3) and running Miami in 2:30-something.
I also heard there was a guy last year that completed all 7 marathons and averaged something like 7:30 pace. Can you imagine running for 7+ hours a day for 7 days in a row? And adding 8-12 hours of international flight time per day on top? 😬
How long do you think it takes to run a marathon at 7:30 pace?

And your 15 minute drive to the trails will make no meaningful difference either way

7:30:00 pace per marathon. Not per km or mile, per marathon. Hence 7+ hours a day. 🤷
If you’re that worried about our environment, I encourage you to go over to India, Uganda, Egypt, Pakistan, Chad, China, Serbia, Türkiye and peach to them. They’re the worst polluters in the world right now, not some lady running marathons for 7 days.

Global warming is indeed a thing, but your scolding is just pretentious. I live in an Asian megacity of 25 million or so. There is a dirty brown haze that hangs over the city daily. The streets are clogged all day with cars, buses, trucks and whatever belching smoke in old vehicles with no emission standards. Many people wear masks - not because of covid, but to avoid breathing in all of the junk in the air. 80% of the people living here have probably never heard of the term global warming.
Now repeat this scenario in thousands of cities throughout the Global South. And unlike the cities in Europe, NA, and East Asia, these cities are still rapidly growing. That's what you are up against. Riding your bike to a trail instead of driving your Prius just makes your argument seem trivial and irrelevant.

Folks politicize the EPA, but visit any city that doesn't have the equivalent and you'll miss fresh air.
I feel like over the course of her career, Simpson didn't too much global travel? She of course did the OLYs and world champs, but was she big on the DL circuit?
Anyway, the Great World Race was a once in a lifetime opportunity for her. All those bougie folks who travel internationally on the regular are much worse in terms of carbon footprint.

How am I going to go there without polluting? Think before typing please. This woman is polluting far more than your average Indian or Chinese person. Of course if you are talking entire countries they will be the worst polluters because there are billions of them.
So your argument is Asians burns stubble crops so everybody else in the world shouldn't even bother trying? EVERYBODY needs to do more, wherever in the world they live.
