No world class sprinter can run a halfway decent mile.
I bet Quincy Wilson could run 4:20 or 30 right now.
While I'm not sure if this was serious or a joke, in support of the notion that he might actually be able to do that, remember he did run a 1:50 800 this past spring in a sit and kick 800m win over the indoor nationals 2nd placer.
Testing out what he could do in a 1500 for decathlon. Love to see it
So Boling teases us with a mile, which should be obvious to anyone what him and his coach are thinking about, and LR instead wants to argue what constitutes a sprint, long-sprint, etc.
Now that this jabroni sprinter has run a 5:21 mile without even going all out, can we stop with the years-long nonsense about the GOAT not being able to break 5? Honestly one of the dumbest arguments that has ever occurred on LetsRun and probably Rojo’s worst take, which is really saying something.
that's bad. idc if he is a sprinter he is an elite athlete for Gods sake
Looks like he tempod the first three laps comfortably and then kicked a bit. He wasn't straining, if he went all out he probably runs 5:05
While the splits, 81, 86, 81, 72, shows he can go faster, the 86 suggests it wasn't that easy. I reckon if he went again he'd go 5:10, but would need another day or two of training to go 5:05.

Also Quincy Wilson is unlikely to run sub 10 in the 100m
Theyve been trying to fit poor Mathew into some hero slot for years now--not that he isnt a fine athlete!-running and jumping, but hes just not quite making it. Hes game and fiesty, but not ready for prime time. Good lad! Somebody wants him, or a guy like him, to play a role. Theyre gonna have to keep shopping around.

His mile was just for fun and his coach might not have been aware of it beforehand.
