I taught graduate classes in marriage and family counseling and had a license to practice it. It's not a made up stat and fits in with a question of things childless couples do. Of course couples with kids also divorce but such couples sometimes think about divorcing but don't "for the sake of the kids." That alone is going to keep the divorce rate down.
