Myers easily won his heat from the front. Will be interesting if he does that in the Final. Feels like only a couple of athletes are capable of hitting 3:35-6, which you'd think he could frontrun and still have a strong kick.
I am impressed by Painter-Meadows training group member Eva Lloyd's fitness, but horrific tactics. Must've run 1530 meters in that race. Unless there're some other ringers, that looks hard to beat if she runs more like 1500 meters.

Pretty simple. USATF admin failed to enter a mixed 4x4 3 weeks ago when the entry deadline passed. Someone realized it and lobbied WA all the way until an hour before the event start and WA wouldn't allow a late entry. What also needs explaining is why the USATF coaches had the athletes warmup as if they would compete and told them it was being corrected when clearly this is not an oversight of human error. Frustrating incompetence at the national office of USATF certainly and there should be a shakeup in the positions that allowed this oversight to occur and ok'd having US coaches warmup athletes and having them prepare for a race they would not be permitted to participate in.

To be fair, at least the Kenyans do look their stated age this year, from what I've seen.
This is probably why only one has made the men's 1500 final, and only two in the 800m semifinals with one of them qualifying as a fastest loser.

Dylan McElhinney is a very savvy runner. She plans her races and sticks to her plan. She didn't really "fight back". She just didn't want to start kicking with a lap to go and wanted to wait a little longer to start kicking.
In June she won the US U20 1500 and the Nike 800.
In April she won the Penn Relays mile.
In March she won both the 800 and the mile at Nike Indoor Nationals.
She's not always the girl who is in the best shape, but she is usually the smartest racer in the field which is why she does so well in big races. Good for her.
