Has it set in yet that Markezich just took the scalp of the heralded multiple 1500m NCAA champion in the champion’s event??
This does not surprise me at all. Ramsden is lucky that Markezich focused on steeple.
Markezich did not start showing this kind of form until Natty’s cross. But even in Indoor, when Valby beat her in the 3000m, she wasn’t displaying this form.

If I recall right she split 4:22 anchoring a DMR 6 months ago.

But now Olivia has started training at altitude. (I don’t think (?) she lived at altitude in Washington state, if her dad worked for Microsoft those years.)

At the Alex Wilson Invitational today at Notre Dame. Anchored ND to a 10:44.62 (#3 all-time behind Washington and Providence yesterday). T&F historians- this has to be the fastest ever DMR anchor?Seems she has flown under the...

For Ramsden, as long as she's healthy and feeling good, and is motivated, she should continue to maintain fitness and pop into a few more races. The fatigue will set in soon, but she's peaked, might as well get a bit more experience and enjoy the perks of being a pro athlete racing.
Tuohy seems to be about where she was early spring 2023 with her fitness. That's definitely good enough to line up and shoot her shot in some of the second tier European races, maybe get the standard for worlds next year, or just a bunch of rankings points. She should have something to build off of this fall, a loose collective of a training group and hopefully some confidence to come out with a plan to level up to where making a global team next summer is an expectation.
For those curious, some US runners will be competing in a mile 8/21 in Sweden. Some names are Henes (as pacer), Bush, Schlachtenhaufen, markezich, Hurta-Klecker, Steelman, 2 Neilsons, Andrws, Camp-Bennett, and also Ramsden. Oh and there is Tuohy as well.
Here in Goteborg for the World Masters Athletics track and field championship where I managed a tie for fourth in the high jump. As Wed. was a rest day, just got back from the nearby Folksam GP meet. A bit windy and cool, but otherwise a fine evening. Tuohy placed fourth in the mile at 4:26.66. Anna Connor from Portland, took second in the 1500m at 4:19.36.
nah, she's probably just p1ssed off about something, as usual.
Wonder what her excuse was this time
She ran decent. Not great. Not terrible. She beat some good runners and lost to some good runners. Great race for Markezich. Good run for Tuohy. I don’t understand all the hate.
