Cameron Myers and Phoebe Gill. Can't wait to see what they do in LA '28. Then Laros, 2 yrs younger than Hobbs, and just 1/10 slower. And cannot help but like Femke, too.
Grant Fisher. Hard worker, Integrity fellow Michigan and Genesee county but mostly because he does it the right way. He is not boastful or arrogant. Just hard working and determined
All Team USA athletes are my favorites because I'm patriotic like that, but these ones endeared themselves to me even further in Paris:
Noah Lyles - for taking on the Jamaican version of Ivan Drago in the 100 and coming out on top; and also for being a good sport and congratulating Kishane Thompson when he initially thought Thompson had won.
Christian Coleman - for refusing to throw Kenny Bednarek under the bus after the 4x100 relay, when pressed to do so by Lewis Johnson
Grant Holloway - I love that he took on the role of interviewing athletes at the low key Florida meet and then came out with all the pressure to win gold and got it done.
Daniel Roberts - he's always in Holloway's shadow, but he consistently goes about his business, makes teams, and he's now reached the podium two years in a row
Quincy Hall - for his grit and determination to win that 400
Vernon Norwood - for taking Quincy Wilson under his wing and coming through clutch on the relays
Rai Benjamin - for being the cheerleader for Team USA
Bryce Hoppel - for leaving it all on the track; I really hope he gets his Olympic medal
Men's 1500 team - everything has already been said about their performance, but I want to give a special shout out to Hobbs Kessler for his excitement when all three Americans qualified for the final. I love that he wasn't just excited for himself; he was excited for his teammates.
Kenneth Rooks - for his guts!
Grant Fisher - for his persistence and representing US distance running with class
Nico Young, Graham Blanks, and Parker Valby - for not being afraid to mix it up with the world's best while coming out of college or still in college
Conner Mantz and Clayton Young - running 2:08 on that course and finishing in the top 9 shows how tough these guys are; extra kudos to Mantz for taking the lead and really going for it
Sha'Carri Richardson - for defiantly being herself
Melissa Jefferson, Brittany Brown, and Masai Russell - for being less heralded sprinters but still bringing the excellence
McKenzie Long - for overcoming adversity to make the team
Gabby Thomas - for her elegance and assuming Allyson Felix's role as relay queen
Alexis Holmes - for always delivering her best; didn't medal but ran a PB in the final
Shamier Little - for rocking those relays
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone - for ending the debate on who's best
Anna Cockrell - for always seeming so happy to be there
Juliette Whittaker - for always being a gamer
Nikki Hiltz and Elle St. Pierre - for grinding out a tough final; also, even though she's not a runner, special shout-out to Tara Davis-Woodhall for her infectious positive energy and the dance she did with Nikki right before Nikki's 1500 semifinal
Weini Kelati, Karissa Schweizer, Elise Cranny, Whittni Morgan, and Dakotah Lindwurm - they're not at the level of the world's top female distance runners, but they did what they could. PB for Morgan!
Well done, Team USA!

Nuguse - doesn't have the killer instinct, all talent but no heart. Never wins the big race
Lol - getting 3rd in the Olympics is no heart / no killer instincts?
I am not saying that... that is what the haters on this board are saying. I agree with you. Finishing on the podium every time you race is amazing. I think the haters on the internet just want to see him win a race.
There is a lot of hate on this board for various current runners, former runners, and aspiring up-and-comers. That negativity is a bit exhausting for me because I tend to just ignore the athletes I don't like, but I get it, some people like to gripe and complain. Here is what Letsrun says about (though I don't agree with any of these statements, TBH):
Nuguse - doesn't have the killer instinct, all talent but no heart. Never wins the big race
Rupp - weird, DNS, DNF, Rupp-certified, worked with Alberto
Mo Farah - could only win Gold medals but never actually ran a fast time
Centro - ran the slowest 1500 in modern history; got lucky
Prefontaine - drunk driver, never won a world medal
Sydney ML - Never races, too Christian
Cooper Teare - isn't really a 1500 runner but he thinks he is
Kara Goucher - bad announcer; whiner (just because she didn't have the super shoes when the top-3 did and because Nike abandoned her to support Alberto)
Athing Mu - Never races
Noah Lyles - weird energy, covid faker, too much talking and grinnning
Jakob - can't win the 1500 gold when it counts, too arrogant, stupid tactics, faked being sick
Jessica Hull / Georgia Bell - obvious dopers, suspicious improvement
etc.
I get it. Letsrun posters don't like most runners.
So here is a thread to share the runner you do respect the most. If there is nobody who fits that bill, you don't have to post (obviously).
Who is your favorite current runner? Why?
Uh, who do you like? All of your comments are kind of nasty and especially so, for Nuguse.
Letsile Tebogo: The way he runs is so effortless, he really is the future of sprinting
Alexis Holmes: Showed great improvement and consistency after the highs and lows of last season.
Rhasidat Adeleke: Tall graceful runner
Kenny Bednarek: A very well rounded athlete who has good media presence
Julien Alfred: Very powerful sprinter
Sifan Hassan: Truly seems to love running
Anna Cockrell: One of the nicest athletes out there and her adoration of Dalilah Muhammed is touching
Vernon Norwood: Great consistency and his "twitter beef" with other athletes is fun to watch
Noah Lyles: I ran against him in HS so he'll always be my guy even if he is goofy
Marco Arop: He just strikes me as one of the hardest workers out there. His poise impresses me
I like a lot of these picks. Norwood was very cool how he handled the relays. You could see him knowing little Quincy was in over his head and getting the team into trouble, but he kept his cool, then shouldered the load and showed everyone how it’s done. #Winning.
Sydney McLaughlin because she hasn’t let setting the world record or her opponents interrupt her goal. She continually stays laser focused on breaking 50.
