I don't think the conversion is a large as 10 seconds per mild, 3-5 second is a more based estimation. I take the average and usually add 4 seconds per mile, - it may be more in the longer distances, but 4 seconds per mild makes the world make sense in 95% of cases.
Honest question - Have shoes gotten better in the last 3-4 years after the initial "jump" in technology that many complained about? If yes, show us some science. If no, explain why HS kids and college athletes have continued to improve drastically?
You'd expect an initial jump from the shoes, but there's also an accumulated benefit from training in them over a long period of time, as you can train harder/faster with less recovery.
