Tuohy made a mistake staying with Henes and staying at NC State. She should have moved to altitude and trained with Smith or a real pro group.

Henes is a great college cross country coach but that is it. Her runners don't seem to progress past a certain level. They also don't do double thresholds or lactate training from what has been posted here.

She's going to start doing some altitude stints this year. Also, I'd be shocked if she stays with Henes beyond 2024. My guess is that heading into an Olympic year she didn't want to rock the boat too much and have to adapt to a whole new training system. Better to keep things somewhat stable and then make a bigger change this coming fall.

She must already be at altitude because she was in Colorado giving a Gatorade award to a HS kid last week, and I don't think you fly half way across the country just to do that. I'm sure there are lots of other Gatorade runners already in CO.
