Remember also FastTuohy, you were reluctant to accept Valby’s answers in interviews. For example, you repeatedly took her to task with regard to her stated weekly mileage being different from what Solinsky said.
Oh it is a put down to compare different answers from coach and athlete on mileage?

Unless you are some kind of valby super fanboi you can't get mad at posters for pointing out that valby and her coach said totally different answers about her mileage last year. Fans are interested in how she trains.
Valby admitted to running far more mileage than what solinsky said and crediting that with her gains. So much was made about her mileage last year was fair to point out.

No. I gave plausible explanations for the ‘supposed’ differences. FastTuohy wanted to turn a molehill into a Mnt.

Another reason, I didn’t express back then, but just came to me makes total sense: Solinsky had to track how many runners?whereas, Valby was only tracking herself. In both cases, their answers were probably generalized anyway, since mileage relative to total volume probably fluctuated from week to week. The discrepancy in their answers was something like 5 miles.

for laughs why don't you dig up that post with your "plausible explanation" so all can see
Tuohy started her season later and everyone is overreacting. Pros do this all the time - start slow and peak later. Whether she wins in two weeks or not, Tuohy will PR next year in all events and hit the 5k Olympic standard.
It matters who wins, it’s likely to be a great race and both of them will peak for it.

Solinksy had how many runners in the championship, and how many title contenders was he training? 10? 15? 30?

It had to do with “badger” miles. When you ask the coach how many ‘running-over-ground’ miles their athletes do, with Valby, the meaningful number in his mind probably was with regard to ‘workout miles’. Maybe super-easy warmup cool down mileage was of less concern. And since Valby also did ‘workouts’ on the aerobic machines and in the pool, tallying those ‘equivalents’ may have been another thing they tracked, but weren’t going to go into specifics in their answers.

Oh, wait. That's right, one. Just one runner.
Dude, didn’t just one week before Solinsky had both men and women teams running Regionals?

I dug up the thread - see the posts starting around 205. I do not see any post along the lines of what you claim you posted.
Not sure when was the last time there was a match-up this big between 2 Americans at NCAA Cross Country. On the pod we spent over 15 minutes discussing this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_PTnWMw8UMBecause of the course I'm...
This is (your) post #201 of that thread. "Yes now, but she wasn't doing that a year ago prior to the 2021 Championship."
my response was to your post 209 which was a reply to my post FasterValby wrote: FastTuohy wrote: It seems to me the coach and runner might agree on what her mileage has been, or am I expecting too much? How could this be any more clear. He states right there in the video that this is her training right now, not in 2021.
with my reply which you seem to miss "She said she was doing 0-30 mpw in hs but has upped her mileage. He says she is doing 20-30 mpw now."
which I corrected * 20-30 mpw in hs is what she said
What she said and what he said in no way agree.
Excuse me if my phrase "has been" does not say "has been this Fall" which is what I meant.
and I summarized in #214 Right I don't think she posted any times as a senior either. There also was this covid outbreak. So? She says she did 20-30 mpw in hs and his now higher. But coach says 20-30 mpw now.
You skipped the quote posted in #223 with the link to her saying it.
So, bottom line
1) What do you think her mileage was in 2022?
2) What do you think her mileage was in hs?
If both were 20-30, or if hs was lower, then she was wrong (some say confused!). If 2022 was higher then the coach was wrong. That was my point. Coach and athlete said different things.
