Shade? Just stating facts. Leachman's results while good and probably the best in the country this year were simply not as good as Tuohy's in 2017. She should not have gone out that fast. She admitted that in the post race interview.
zero need to trip over yourself to bring up Tuohy to make that point though. Learn to resist that...

I only brought Tuohy up as Leachman ran the same pace thru 2K. A point of reference.
Leachman wears a watch and she looks at it frequently. She loves that thing. So yes, she knew exactly how fast she was going.
You know I don’t believe a single word you type because you aren’t Leachman.
Go hate on Chep or Bekele or Gidey for actually DNF or falling or bailing on their XC races.
I wasn't hating on Elizabeth Leachman. I'm just saying that she looks at her watch frequently and she pays very close attention to her pace, so she knows exactly how fast she is going. She has said herself that she likes looking at her watch, so you can believe her.
It will be interesting to see if Leachman and Forsyth decide to use the same go for broke strategy at Foot Locker that they used at NXN, or if they change their strategy.
If I was Shea, Cheeseman, or Macchia, I would be content to stay in 3rd place and hope that Leachman and Forsyth fight each other for the first 2 or 2.5 miles of the race, run an extremely fast pace, and then run out of gas.
Because if Leachman and Forsyth run normal paces, I don't think any of the other girls is in good enough shape to win.
This is the Boys Championship Race from the 2023 Foot Locker West Region Cross Country Meet, held December 2 at Mt. SAC. The course is 5K. The top 10 finis...
Technically, this is true, but it's also misleading. The first mile has zero net gain. All of the net downhill in the first 2k is after the first mile.
Those ratings won’t hold up. He basically put everyone in the West last and looking last year he did the same yet it didn’t happen.
The bottom finishers for the girls last year were almost entirely from the West, just as predicted:

The West boys on average did better than their projection, but this is expected. If you are near the top, it is hard to beat your projection. The #1 runner can't beat the projection. The further down the list, the easier to beat your projection. Also, some of the top runners go into cruise control once they are out of it, since it is not a team event. I believe the West boys will beat these projections on average again this year. But after last year, I'm not making any predictions about the girls.
Ellie Shea will win. Everyone else is tired from the long cross country season. Ellie is fresh as a daisy.
Hopefully that 9:26 3000 last Saturday was an aberration. Hopefully Forsyth and Leachman run a reasonable pace for the first loop, and Shea makes it a 3 way contest for the win.
