I have a buddy who's in his mid-30s, makes $400K/year, 6'3", not ugly, owns a paid-off house, very outgoing, dresses well. He struggles to get dates. His last date was a 32-yr-old, out-of-shape, divorced chick. And people wonder why many men in America are just giving up ..

I'm not angry with women. And I'm very seldom in my basement except to do laundry & stuff like that. 😄

I'm in the gym hitting the weights 4 days a week & running the other three - so I work out everyday. There's not that many women at the gym I go to.

Where I run at (open space park) there's hardly any women. I use to belong to a running club for the better part of a decade but it was heavily male orientated, and the women that were there were either married or have BFs - it was pretty bleak. And I work from home.

It seems like everything with dating these days is on dating apps & social media - so what's a guy like me to do?

Church (a large one with a "singles" group. Volunteer engagements. Yoga class. Spin class. Book Club. Network with any and all female acquaintances (and follow up regularly so that they want to set you up with someone).

Take baby steps. 1st week - schedule 1 or 2 outings, 2nd week - schedule 2 or 3, etc.

Make sure to at least say hi and introduce yourself to most people there.

Go for it and be vigilant.

Be more interested in them on the first date(s) than overtly trying to sell yourself.

If all these do not work into , then look into the "mail order bride" industry.

Keep your head up and stay after it. Something will work out.

Curious...what's the 28 yr old look like as well as the ones in their mid to late 30s? And how about you? (young looking? full set of hair? Jacked, etc?) Also, are you loaded $$$?

If these women are hot, fit & top tier, and if you're not wealthy - then you're something special to be dating that young of women - especially the 28 yr old! 😲

At my gym, I see two types of guys in their 60's that can pull younger women.

The first one is just the rich old guy. They drive up in their hot sports cars & come into the gym bragging about their dough. Some are in decent shape but many are not being overweight & sloppy. Most of the young chicks going for these type of guys are gold diggers looking for the sugar daddy (imagine that).

The second type in the jacked TRT guy with the year-round tan & hair transplant - who looks years younger than their actual age. Granted, many of these guys have a good income & drive a nice car, and all that, but some just have modest income & okay house & ride.

These guys will get hot younger women hitting on them & are actually physically attracted to them more so than the gold diggers & sugar daddies.

In these cases, the girl gets her hot "older" man & the guy gets his "trophy GF." 😉

Well, both men and women tend to be less fit these days. But given how often this topic crops up it doesn't seem like men don't want to date.

I don't think you can generalise like you are doing. 'Women' expect a lot of investment without offering anything in return - ALL women? That's a lot of women... women really offer nothing in return? I've met a lot of women and barely any of them were like that.

I wouldn't want to be in a relationship without basic equality. If someone expected a lot without offering anything. That's not specific to gender, that's specific to the human race. I don't think anyone would want to be in this type of relationship.

I hope you meet someone who defies your expectations.

Thirsty simps are why the buyer/seller dynamic is so heavily skewed in favor of women these days. It's crazy how many average-to-below-average women think they are entitled to perfect mates (i.e. tall, handsome, wealthy). I say this, not because I'm a "MysOGiNiST" who hates women, but for other men who devalue men as a sex. If men were to just stop swiping on every girl on dating apps, stopped liking thirst trap pictures of social media, stop watching and paying for porn, stop allowing their partners to cuuck them in "poly" relationships, stop being doormats in their relationships, then women would value men a lot more.

I was gonna say, remember the movie Her with Joaquin and Scarlett? Wait until VR and AI really hit their stride, and then it's gonna get even worse.

Upp!!!!! everyone know what men are supposed to be emotionless pussychasers and deflect all rejection x10000 without any psychological impact, then somehow be emotionally present and available when a woman demands it from you. It's not like women these days who are 5s are walking around pretending to be 10s and untouchable princesses and actively humiliating men who attempt to approach them with genuinely positive intentions.

Just the operation of supply and demand. Of course the woman will be picky if she has a surplus of suitors. That isn't conceited behavior, it is realistic behavior to market forces. Is a person with a good income conceited if he or she buys a Lexus instead of a bargain compact car?

I just watched the video before writing my comment. As was said in the video, too many men in their 20s and 30s don't have their acts together. They are either underemployed or not employed at all, plus they don't take care of themselves physically. Many of these dudes don't even have likeable personalities! No self respecting woman with serious career and life aspirations would want to date a guy like that!

Are you kidding? Is the guy fat or something? If not, no way this can be true. C'mon...400K? (that kind of dough attracts a lot of hot women. 6'3"? (women love 6 footers), Not ugly? (that means he at least average looking).

I don't about this. I have an friend at my gym who's in his 40's. He's also about 6'3, 225 with a muscular, aesthetic physique (built like the Silver-era bodybuilding legend Steve Reeves). He's not the best looking dude though - crooked nose from his boxing days, bad jawline & bad teeth. He's an HVAC guy not even making 6 figures (around 80K he tells me), and he drives an old truck to the gym or Harley motorcycle.

Here's the clincher: The guy gets hit on all the time at the gym by attractive women. In fact, women will just approach him in between sets & start flirting with him complimenting on how good he good he looks. Other times, when women see us working out together knowing we're friends, they'll come up to me to ask about him, "you're friend is hot...is he single?"

IDK, maybe muscles & height overshadows the attributes your buddy has. And I wouldn't know personally because even though I'm also built pretty muscular (175 lbs) - I'm a shorty at 5'6" on a good day. Lol. And I don't get that kind of attention from women like he does - it's obese or very ugly women...if any at all. 🤣

Good points. Ofcourse generalisations are never correct in all cases.

My post was actually about dating/the start of a relationship, not relationships in general. Dating is very onesided in the beginning. It's not an equal investment. And to invest something a person needs to see a return or he will stop investing (time and/or resources). Do this often enough and it's reasonable to think the person will stop trying.
