Initially, this thread was entitled "UCLA track coach, Sean Brosnan, Fired for NCAA violations" but we changed it as Brosnan told us he was simply not renewed for next year.
It's the AD and head coach's fault for not tutoring Brosnan. After all UCLA is one of the 4 top Olympic T&F schools located in the heart of Hollywood and is under immense scrutiny by authorities. You can't get away with any violations at the 4 Top Olympic schools in the world: UCLA USC Berkeley Stanford.
My cowardly and anonymous reading of the situation:
Athletes transferred to UCLA from other schools, some may have jumped the gun by talking about their destination before entering the portal. That could be construed by other coaches as tampering and they filed complaints with NCAA.
UCLA got spooked. With their move to the BIG 10 next year, they probably didn't want any whiff of impropriety following them to the new conference. There might not be enough evidence of a punishable violation, but not renewing an assistant coach is an expedient way to get rid of a potential problem.
Brosnan will probably land somewhere very soon. I wouldn't be surprised if Nike tabs him to takeover Union Athletics after the current terrible season and after most of their top tier talent left. His brashness and ego is better suited to professional track, IMHO.
Sean won't starve. He'll be fine. I feel sorry for the Bruin athletes as their world got rocked right before the season started.
That definitely happened. The only question would be if they actually picked UCLA they day after they entered the portal or just the day after it was reported they entered the portal?
The team is not heartbroken. that's fake news. I've been trying to say all along with the injections, the secret coaching of NP while his wife was the "coach"... I mean you should have seen this dude at the state meet- he was more amped than any other HS coach yelling and cheering for NP and even stated they should have done better... what college coach does that at a HS state meet!? Sure you can say no NCAA violations on here, but that doesn't mean the real head coach saw the writing on the wall. NCAA rules dictate that the HEAD COACH is responsible for their staff's violations.... not the staff.... So it is easy to see why they HEAD COACH (AKA Director) said Peace out Bro. The team is much better off.
You cannot tell me that magnoliac22 account that was registered today and somehow had insider information that aligns with Brosnan’s livestream was not an attempt by Brosnan to post anonymously on LRC.
It's hard to believe he will get another college coaching job after he trashed his bosses and other college coaches on Instagram. Who would trust him now?
Maybe he'd get some low level jobs but would brosnan take a job for 45k?
Rule number 1 of college coaching - keep your bosses happy.
No one in her has yet asked..... why did he rush out of NP at such an odd time last year?? no one on here asked why he would run away from the most successful team in the history of HS sports to be the lowly assistant at a low funded distance team. Everyone praised him and such but WHY exactly did her leave NP? Maybe UCLA knows all too well.
In just one year Sean is out of the college scene. Way to go coach Brosnan
I’ve been posting about these impending significant violations that would likely force him out for a half year now, and the BroJos have been deleting all of my comments no matter how factual and well known it was. I expect an apology.
Lol. He specifically mentions Letsrun and states those that post "anonymously on a message board are cowards"
I think I’d agree with that, especially when it affects another’s livelihood.
You just owned up to being a coward. I do NOT agree with Brosnan and the more I hear about him the more I think he should probably sell used cars instead.
Seems like Brosnan pictures himself as the next Schumacher or something. I know coaches like him, though. They don’t care about their athletes, it’s all for their own ego.

What is the apology supposed to be for? I don’t get it…

I mean, sure its possible there was something nefarious there. But is coaching HS, even an elite HS team, anyone's true end goal if they aren't a HS teacher? Especially when he knew the golden era was going to end in 12 months. Either get out then when he had a D1 offer, or wait 12 months and hope another D1 offer was available.
