If grant attempted a new distance, I’d assume an American record. So he could never have solinskys element of surprise from by far his most famous moment
You said he had peaked and was showing signs of regression. Today, he improved by 3 seconds in the 3,000. Just admit you were wrong.
^this is valid.
The OP is a total loser, so wrong, now we fall in his butt out and he’s finding every excuse to show how stupid he is😂
To add and really give props to both Solinsky and Fisher:
1. I think it's not fair to bash Solinsky. He was ground breaker with his 26:59 and suffered a career ending injury.
2. Fisher has the "bad luck" that there are so many strong guys right now. If he never places higher than 4th in the Olympics he still has his good place in running history. 7:25 - 12:46 - 26:33 and 4th at the Olympics despite not being the crazy kicker is just so freaking good. Give this guy some credit for being an all time great. 26:33 is underrated here. The shoes do not run alone...
Is it even possible to be a corporate sell out in Track & Field? These people don’t make a lot of money. And if their hearts were not in competition, they would not be breaking records. Just shut up.
Grant is incredible. We witnessed some phenomenal runs today & yesterday. Bravo to everyone who competed.
He made the Olympic team in two events and won a US title IIRC, on top of holding US records and continental records.
No one is going to win all the time, and we don't ecen know what's in his future. I also happen to like a few of the people he's competing against like Grijalva and Kincaid so if any of those three medals I'd be happy and that doesn't mean the other two are losers.
I'd say he's done great by the standards of US running, pushed the sport forward immeasurably, and done right by his family and sponsors.

The Virtue Signaling on you is wild.
We get it, you took AP language, maybe passed the test with a 3. Took a college English class and learned some vocabulary, have watched some political jubilee/ cut YouTube videos. You think throwing around modern vocabulary makes you smart and important.
You ran at a race where some professional also raced at, and categorize yourself as an “expert” because you pooped in the same portapotty as a pro.
Now you combine these two aspects and you get this “code5800” user who believes Grant Fisher “isn’t all that” while he pats himself on the back for breaking 15:00 in the 5k at some point (I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt). “Yeah I was pretty competitive back in my day, but Grant isn’t even that good, Jerry can’t coach, and nobody is as good anymore because they use super shoes, even though they’re tested 1000x more often than they did 15 years ago”.
How do you define when it matters. The idea of a world championship/olympic is an illusion created by marketing.
These people have many races at the NCAA level (which Fisher won), the USA championships (he's placed in the top 3 and moved onto the Olympics and world championship team 4 times, a rare honor), and on the Diamond League level that also count.
Jesus name should ALWAYS be revered and honored. Of course, not everyone believes in Him, some like to use his name in the wrong way. His Name should be honored. STOP DOING USING HIS NAME in vain. Read Exodus 20:7.
Solinsky has never finished higher than 12th in a global final. Fisher has 3 top 6 finishes. He is already much better
Solinsky also never made it to the Olympics.
Would be interesting to have seen Solinsky and Fisher in the same training group AND SHOES/TRACKS/ ETC...I think they would be right next to each other.

Grant Fisher is the best American distance runner right now (not middle distance).
Chris Solinsky was far and away the best clean American born distance runner in 2010 and 2011.
Knocking people down is a worthless pursuit in life.
Btw, enough of the virtue signaling. It's just disgusting.
You keep using that phrase. I don’t think you know what it means.
the public expression of opinions or sentiments intended to demonstrate one's good character or social conscience or the moral correctness of one's position on a particular issue.
You guys praise and keep criticism of Grant far away for the sake of saving face.

Your “criticism” isn’t supported by well developed thought. Reading your comments in this thread one can not help but wonder why all the negativity. Your comments come across as spiteful.
Sport is about fun, competition, dedication, trying to achieve ones best and many other positive outcomes.
Critical thinking, and analysis, is very appropriate in the world of sport. Using such in a positive way can produce better outcomes. After all, it is better outcomes that we want for our US athletes who dedicate a time in their lives to be the best they can be. As a fan, I have much respect for that and take great pleasure when these athletes succeed.

Unfortunately even in the small sport that is T&F critical analysis and thinking is what matters little. If this past year's form of reactionary entertainment with examples such as Donald Trump, Andrew Tate, and even AOC (who's on the other side of the political spectrum) people don't care to thoroughly investigate. They care about summarized soundbyte that generate as much controversy as possible. I have my scripted reasons for disliking Grant Fisher's performances compared to him as a runner. He's always been talented I have never doubted it but notice how the greatest runners come from a handful of brands (Nike, Adidas, ON, New Balance) and that's about it...Hoka's sponsorships are minimal and limited. Plus, with Shelby's doping cases, Supershoes becoming the new precedent required for Evenly Paced World Records, and other artificial uses needed. What are the chances that Jakob/Yared would've gone 3:43 without the lights or their heightened shoe tech? It leaves too many gaps to say it's a legit record the same way Gebrselassie, Bekele, El Guerrouj, etc... did before. Why put yourself in an integral position as an athlete to make your performance lessened due to artificial factors?
I'm obviously not nearly as fit as these pros. My best time was 4:17 back in HS and now I go all-out to break 5. So this isn't a doubt of Talent but, of what is given to them. Remember even a 1% improvement is existential at the pro level, why leave that gap up to the shoes?
