Maybe. But she introduces a factor that we normally don't think about in the 1500, that was apparently more common in European racing when her mom was racing, that a runner can physically disrupt and affect other runners, knocking them off their stride.

What excuses do you weirdo KT fanatics have lined up when she wins neither race?
Everyone seems to be sleeping on Appleton from UVA. Up until regionals, she was had the fastest mark other than Tuohy and has great finishing speed. If today's her today, I can see her winning.
The strategy for Tuohy has to be to run a fast, 4:05-4:06 race. If she leaves it for the last lap she will get caught, and possibly body checked into the infield. :)
She went out in 65.8, 69, 64.8, 46.8 when she ran 4:06point. That was indoors with pacing.
The suggestion then is a fast first lap, she then dials it back a lap, then kicks for home.

The counter if anyone wants to stop her is they absolutely have to battle her to the pole, and all through that first lap.

They absolutely must fight that first lap, get around her, and box her in.
she is starting outside (#10) and if she is smart will stay out there and if whoever leads slows it down then move up by 300 or if they dont wait a little longer.
east coast vets: Appleton, Ramsden, Riggins and Flockhart
overmatched: Goldstein, Jepkurui
I joked in another thread that without Touhy in this final, it would be won in 4:20 with a 59 close similar to the men's final. Amazingly, only Touhy wants a fast pace in this field.
Even with a bumpy start the outside post means Touhy's worst position at 200m is mid pack outside. From there she should be able to get to the front by 500-600m.
Who will follow? From the semi, it looks like O'Sullivan and Ramsden plan to stalk Touhy and Howell knows she needs to be in range. Is Touhy fit? Lots of debate on this, but I see a very reliable 4:06 1500m runner, who has only had to run 4:14, 4:14 & 4:09 to advance to the final, so plenty of pop available.
So at 1100 Touhy leads in 3:02 followed by Ramsden, O'Sullivan and Howell. Appleton and Flockhart lead the chasers followed by the Oregon trio and Jepkurui.
In an amazing final lap, Touhy holds off Ramsden at the line in 4:05, followed by Appleton, Thornton-Bott and O'Sullivan all at 4:06. Howell, Flockhart and Kazimierska round out the scorers in 4:09. The whole field is in by 4:11, so pr's all over the place in a memorable race.
Surprises? This field is so deep and so fast that runners I've hardly mentioned like Riggins, Elmore, Kazimierska and even Jep-k could come out of nowhere to win. Will be fun!

I like the chess match analysis. But how much extra lane running can she do and still hit 4:06pnt?

to answer your question maybe lane 2 for first turn

That was actually T-Bott, 4:08.33.
But yes, she has a killer close. So does Flockhart. There are a few women in this field who can close the last 200m in 30s.
