We've closed this thread to new posts. Wiley's participation at Huntington has been much discussed and nothing new is coming out on page 7 and the same people are going back and forth with the same arguments.
I guess I missed where Nick Johnson confessed that he administered PEDs to Wiley, like you say he did. Can you provide the source? Thanks in advance. Mea Culpa if this is the case, and if so, I can't believe she is able to compete.
I would like to think we can almost all agree that Ms. Wiley is a national class runner in her age group and would have been without the Johnson’s influence in her life. I do not believe anyone here would subscribe to the idea that the Johnson's are the only coaches in the world for her.
I'd take it a step further and say she has likely thrived in athletics despite their influence, not because of their influence. The sooner she can come to this conclusion, the better. People want to cheer for her.
The Johnson’s are leeches whose actions have no place in our sport or society. Their haphazard drug abuse and pre-meditated sexual deviancy is reprehensible. I hope they find help and/or a jail cell before they hurt more people than they already have.
Those that continue to harbor the Johnson’s influence also should have no place within the leadership of our sport or society. We are out of red flags for this group of people. If they haven’t been able to figure this out yet and act accordingly, they cannot be trusted in positions of authority.
Why she's still at Huntington: Hometown: Huntington, Ind. High School: Huntington North HS
Good grief.
How many kids are dying to stay...IN THEIR HOMETOWN for college? Most kids want to get away.
And most who have the opportunity to do so...do. She turned down an adventure in Boulder Colorado to remain at home.
I am so frustrated and saddened by this situation. I hope some of the ladies she competed against this past weekend had a chance to pull her aside and speak to her about her situation, and at least let he know she had their support when she wants to reach out.
The most frustrating hair pulling part of the Mary Cain story was all the pro runners who came out of the woodwork to say things like "Oh I knew Alberto was a total monster, but I didn't reach out to you, a sixteen year old girl, because I was too cowardly to do so."
Like okay, thanks for telling Mary all those years later that you knew all about him.
This situation is so hard to watch because it's like watching a train wreck and being unable to do anything about it. she's so obviously conditioned and brainwashed, made to feel special, and loved when in reality it's all manipulation. It's so awful and gross.
Do we really think that if she went to Colorado, she would’ve been a much better runner than she is now? Would she have beat Nicki Hiltz or finish a little bit closer to Johnson?
I think she made the right decision staying at where she is comfortable at because clearly she has taken a much bigger leap than most would expect from last year.
Every post that talks honestly about the ongoing HU doping scandal gets deleted even though they are based on public documents and court filings. The moderation on this site is a joke. Oh, and that much bigger leap than expected. Lolllll.
Since even the most reasonable and measured comments, based on knowledge of the actual record, get deleted, all I can say is no one is fooled. No one. So either disallow these ridiculous threads to be made, or permit an honest comment. A complete disgrace. Bye.

Nick Johnson needs to be in jail. Lauren Johnson needs intense counseling. Addy Wiley needs an intervention. Huntington University needs a new President.
Anyone who cares about Addy and her future would demand these things.
Any coach that has you racing multiple events like she has been is doing her no good. This doesn’t even factor in the toxic coaching situation that most likely is happening here. Athletically she could do better. Academically she could. Just lame to stay in your home town anyways and it isn’t like her hometown is nyc or la.

Once again I am begging you for come common sense and decency, she is literally in close proximity to people who are known abusers. They also have been credibly accused of giving runners PEDs such as EPO in the past. Who cares how many pros she beats at these races? Who cares how well she is running at the moment?
I agree that Wiley has done a number of things to step in it, and she is an adult.
With that being said 18 is still really really young. I don't see her as a total villain. I just hope she gets the help and support she needs.
Any result achieved while cheating should be expunged. If she gets caught doping she should serve a ban. I have no remorse for dopers, but Addy is different in that it's clear she's been groomed and manipulated. If she apologizes, I hope she is forgiven.

How this post gets 6 (as of now) downvotes is beyond appalling.
What would explain assho’s behavior, then? He the same with Valby. And now with Willy and all she’s gone through, it’s so disgusting. If I were KT, I’d be begging the brojos to make this psycho stop.
Another thing I mentioned was about the number of people that read this site.
I know that this may be hard for some to fathom, but a very small fraction of the T&F/XCverse read this site. An even smaller fraction contribute here. Many that post here are the same people anonymously using different names. I was talking to a friend of my daughter’s that runs a a D1 school in a P5. She and her parents have absolutely no idea what Let’s Run is.
Just a thought — maybe someone commenting on what the top performers in the sport read or do not read should perhaps be able to draw on a larger network of relationships than sort of knowing one D1 runner?
Dude, no. There are 99 reasons and doping probably ain't one.
This whole thing is soooo much more complicated than access to peds.
Wiley actually said in an interview that the reason she changed her mind about running for Colorado was that only the Johnsons could help her achieve her running goals. Now what would only they have that a strong program like Colorado doesn’t have?
