so if they win more than one game and isn't fired and his son plays better than the previous QB you'll come back and admit you were wrong?
or all you just all talk....
OP again wrote: I'll admit I was wrong.
lol...500 yards passing and a win over ranked TCU on week 1......it's over for the OP.
Not sure I've ever seen a bad take go so poorly so quickly.
Yeah, I'm not sure where this goes from here, but there were an awful lot of people rooting against this team, against Sanders, calling him out for making his kid the quarterback, ripping him for the massive overhaul of the roster, etc.
I'll eat some crow on this one. CU could have easily lost this, but hung in score for score on the road. Will be some story if they keep this up. Nebraska up next; no easy out of conference.

Boy, do they look like morons right now.
The team also has a massive following. My friends that ran for CU are obsessed. My Sports fan friends almost all are massively rooting for them with a few taking the OPs stance.
Prime has everyone talking and that means there are going to be haters. That’s just part of the deal. But mostly he’s got people TALKING. And that’s huge for a program that won one game a year ago.
I was talking to a reporter in Budapest who follows CU about Deion. When I asked him if they'd win a lot of games, "He said probably not this year. Maybe next." I was surprised as given the recruiting I kind of assumed they'd be decent. His reply was, "Vegas has set the over/under on wins at 3.5 and they are hardly ever wrong."
They were 21.5 point underdogs to TCU and won.
So Vegas was terribly wrong in game #1. Let's see what happens the rest of the season but given how accurate and smart his son is at QB, it's hard to think they won't be competitive even if their defense is atrocious.
Also Deion - who used to play two sports - is finally doing what I think all college football coaches should do - have the best players play offense and defense. It always amazes me how bad college football defenses are and I always think, "Why don't they take some of those star offensive players and make them play defense?"

Hunter won't last the season playing that many snaps every week. He may not make half the season. This isn't like the 1940's when "offensive ends" were jogging around half the time giving both themselves and those defending them a few plays off. Both WR and CB basically run 10-40 yard sprints on every play. If he doesn't suffer soft tissue injury, he'll be at risk for more serious injury due to fatigue.
Best talent on offense in college then the difficult task of asking guys to switch to defense. Some head coaches are open and honest during recruiting. Eg. Warren Moon, a southern California high school guy was told be several southern California D1 schools he would be switched to safety. He went J.U.C.O. instead. Jeff Blake, a Florida guy was told by several Florida schools he would be switched to safety. J Blake went to ECU instead.
Other coaches get 1/2 a dozen freshman on campus to be tailback, four or five freshmen to be QB and a dozen freshmen on campus to be receiver then once on campus, tell half of them you're play on defense.
Most of us on here were high school XC runners as was I. I did play Pop Warner football. Pop Warner fields are only 80 yards with 8 yard end zones. No one played every snap both ways, too exhausting. Don't forget kickoff coverage.
Limited practice time. Guys on defense in college, no matter how talented have limited time. There is not time for hours and hours of film study. College defenses are very simple. A simple defense can be exploited by a good college quarterback.

Too much is said about college football players 100 years ago, 90 years ago, 80 years ago, 70 years ago playing both sides of the ball. It happened in college games but not all games and certainly not every play. College football originally had unlimited rosters then 120 man rosters. Why would a college team with over a dozen running backs and over half a dozen safeties have guys play every play?
Early days of N.F.L., rosters were small due to lack of revenue. E.S.P.N. used to show, 40 for 60. Forty men for sixty minutes. Fifty-five plus years ago in N.F.L., teams did not have 3rd string quarterbacks. Some of the both ways hype is more from early N.F.L. days than college. No one played every play plus kickoff coverage. Never happened.

When I played football in high school I played every down both ways and special teams. I was never tired in a game. We were seriously overtrained for fitness.

I guess your a tough guy then. It's not realistic in todays college or pros to do so. HS to college is also a big difference which many don't realize until they have to play.
