Yeah the vitriol directed towards Wiley in this thread is kind of surprising. The inflammatory OP probably didn't help, but some of the comments have been insane. I thought people would be more sympathetic given she was clearly groomed by Nick. Anyone who hasn't read the HU thread and police report should do so. Wiley is as much a victim as the other women Nick abused and her behavior makes sense in light of what happened to her.

Were they coaching her in high school as well? I ask because she went 2:04 for 800 and the lazy conversion to 1500 for a well trained runner would be 4:08, which is basically what she just ran.

It's not all that suspicious for an 18 year old that is in love with and sleeping or slept with their coach to want to stay by their side instead of transferring to a school where you're going to feel like a black sheep from the beginning.

CU is clearly the more natural fit for a talent like this. But from a psychological/emotional/etc perspective I understand why she keeps running for this dumpster-fire HU program.

This morning's video shows why I don't like watching Seth's videos. He's the guy who says he's a morning person and after his 12th cup of coffee screams, "GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY AREN'T WE HAVING A GREAT DAY."

Doubt from a handful of Letsrun posters. She just ran in a premier meet. Her time counted. Thousands now see how fast she is and they know nothing about the other stuff.

It would be nice if you were a fan of the sport like 95% of the posters are. Yes I am a fan of Tuohy amd Wiley and Valby and Cook and any other promising American. You on the other hand take every opportunity to insult every young runner who threatens Tuohy. I don't understand the obsession with one runner unless you are her parent. Why not root for everyone. Competition makes the sport better.

The reason Addy Wiley threads bring out all the Tuohy people is that she set the national record in the high school girls mile and that poses a threat to their view of Tuohy's greatness, so they need to stomp on it. But then defenders have to reckon with the fact that her coach was doping his athletes at Huntington, that she defended him, and thus, that there is a good possibility that hs record was achieved through doping--even that it continues, but it is always possible it wasn't.
