The DMR is too dependent on the miler and who shows up, but Valby has not shown to be an elite NCAA 1500m runner yet so I wouldn't expect a win.
She anchored Florida's DMR to a 11:00 last year but I can't find splits. In that race she beat Kentucky's team that placed 5th in the NCAA last year.
That DMR wasn't Florida's best 400 or 800 legs either. And Valby this year is clearly more fit and has been healthier.
Stanford will be good with Willis and Whittaker but we've also seen enough freshmen at Stanford that have struggled immensely.
Put me in the camp that says neither Willis nor Whitaker will run on Stanford's DMR at Nationals as they will preoccupied by trying to go 1-2 in open 800. But Stanford can have a good team with some other runners they have including Dudek anchoring (and not running 5000). The idea that FL would sacrifice high places in the 400, 800 and 5000 to win a NCAA DMR is funny. DMRs are won with good, but not great runners on first 3 legs and an very strong anchor who doubles back in 3000 the next night (and gives up on mile and 5000).
