lol at trying to sell Huntsville hotels and Huntsville tourist attractions as more appealing to teenagers than the center of the cross country universe for a weekend that is NXN and the Nike Mother Ship in Beaverton. do you think 1 out of 100 kids are worried about the parking lot? get serious. no one said Huntsville was a dump just that its never going to hold a candle in a kids mind to the Willy Wonka XC madness that is NXN for your "average" 17 year old.
So spare us the meaningless insider chest thumping. lots of us have "sources" here. this is a running site filled with coaches and event managers and former high school runners. so lots of us have ties to kids and/or coaches at these races. you are nothing special nor do you have any secret knowledge. this is all well known stuff that has been talked about a million times in track practices and on bus rides all over the country. and the excitement came RIGHT back after two years of no NXN. and plenty of kids and coaches wanted to be there and enjoyed it and went home bragging about it. and really thats not a surprise at all no matter what agenda you are trying to steer here...
Personally, I have no dog in the fight. I cant repeat enough that Garmin is a perfectly fine event and HAS a place in the end of year "championship" racing. No argument about that at all. But stop the silly spinning about atmosphere and parking lots and kids not being impressed. We are done with thinking NXN is in some kind of danger because they went dark for two years. are you reacting like this out of bitterness at their success or do you have some other reason for grinding this particular axe?
