I have no intention of betting. I was simply curious how far things have degraded in that area. Per your OP, my interest in the NFL greatly diminished after that Saints/Rams playoff game a few years ago; the blown call in the 4th quarter of that game was…
worst non-call in sports history.
I was a Drew Brees fan, starting in the last part of his Chargers stint, when under the threat of being replaced by the newly drafted prototypical franchise QB in Philip Rivers, Brees massively turned his play, and career around. It was fun. I followed him to the Saints, and became sort of a Saints fan while he was there.
That playoff game was an incredible showdown. The Saints had strategically set the Rams up for that 4th quarter, deceptive pass to the sideline. Well, you know what happened.
That is not what I am talking about. Bills were up by 4 and made the stop at the 1/2 and ended the game. Caesars would have lost massive amounts of cash with a Bills +4 win; then in the very next play the Bills drop the snap in the endzone and the Vikings landed on the ball for a touchdown. Did you even watch the game; what random holding call are you talking about? They had to have had Allen throw the game....it is the only thing that makes sense. Read the article before commenting more.
The point spread is to balance the bets as much as possible to minimize the any losses compared to the vig. Why would a win by the Bills created a loss for the casino?
Did you follow Brees when he went on to the Saints, or were you one of the jokers that couldn’t wait to get Rivers on the field? The split between the fans over the Brees/Rivers issue was huge.

Oh wow, I just learned from watching the following that there is actually a rule in place by which the Commissioner can have a game replayed due to something extraordinary, like a really bad call:
The New Orleans Saints lost their place in the Super Bowl to the Rams after referees decided not to throw the yellow flag on a play that many are calling a g...
So, what you are saying is you are a degenerate gambler who lost a bunch of money on the Bill's game.
No, I am anti gambling and a Bills fan and big fan of Allen and what I saw go down in that game very much looked like he was told to throw it, and then the next day ESPN pops this article about the potentially devastating +4 Bills win.....I want to believe in something I can no longer believe in. I want to think it is crazy, but nothing said here has changed my mind yet. Roger Goodell will eventually permanently ruin the integrity of the NFL. It has not happened yet, but it is progressing towards that era. If you bet against the rigged booking houses you are a moran and Goodell is banking on that; I am not a moran and do not do such. I am a real fan of the NFL.

READ THE ARTICLE. Normally you are correct. Sunday it got thrown out of wack because Allen was not supposed to play. Read, the come back with an opinion. It was a fact that Caesars was about to lose huge bank if the dropped snap had not happened. A fact, not speculation.
Did you lose money on this? sounds like you are being a little b. Anybody that watched this game knows that the refs heavily favored the Bills. First missed a call with too many men on the field. Second that wasn’t a catch by Davis or whoever it was. Bills literally had to fumble a snap in the endzone to lose. Statistically that just doesn’t ever happen. Gambling had nothing to do with this game.
Gamblers are mainly idiots who don't understand chance and how it can influence an outcome, and are easily duped by lines set specifically to lure them into betting and losing their money.
That is the issue, the dumb gamblers were about to beat the house in a big way with a +4 Bills win....then the dropped snap in the endzone and the house saved itself. The game was over at that point.
No they weren't. They might have won on this game, but they lost on others. Sportsbooks don't care which side wins. By setting the line, they guarantee enough money comes in on either side in the big picture to guarantee a profit every day. They might have had to pay out a bit on this game, but they would have made a huge profit Sunday regardless.
Well how about the best f--kery of last weekend - Jets and Pats. The most obvious block in the back of all time not called which blows the Jet's covering in a game that never looked like wouldn't. Epic stuff.

Timothy William Smith Works at Basketball Referee (1983–present) Is the NFL fixed? No. You have 30 owners who all spend 170 million a year on players. The players can become very rich IF they perform. If you don’t NFL stands for Not for long. Game officials are scrutinized. Every call is revued. It’s easy to see the fixed angle in a short series of games or plays. Been watching for 51 years it’s real. People would know if it was fixed
