I got lit up in this thread as a jealous impotent, but this is basically my immediate suspicion of anyone entering the "field" of venture capital.
They are fundamentally casting a wide net with billions of dollars hoping to land some 10,000% growers.
What does anyone bring to the venture capital industry except lots of their own money?
Like what insight is there to have? In my head, only specialists (as one example, a microbiology researcher) hired to consult could tell the money guys if some very specific start-up was a hidden diamond or just blowing smoke.
I don't know if you are a jealous impotent, but I do know you are a boring troll. All you've done on this thread is whine that VF can't possibly be qualified to work for a VC. And as I'm sure you know, "Whining isn't winning." If you are going to troll, at least be clever or witty.
As for what VCs are looking for in employees, it's not just $$ and specialist's knowledge. They obviously need people to do a lot of other jobs, many of them mind-numbing and boring (like your trolling!). To get these jobs done well, they hire ambitious, driven people who will work hard and careful, who will take advice/criticism, who are articulate, clever and "get it." And smart. Really smart. Smart counts for a lot. That's why they like to hire from schools for smart kids.
PS You didn't get "lit up" b/c you are a jealous impotent. You got lit up b/c you mocked VF in the lamest and laziest way possible. And, when that was pointed out, you doubled down.
What could be more boring than someone who follows a losing strategy and then whines when she gets called out?
