I have seen people deliberately cheat.

I saw a guy at a mountain bike race lifting his bike over a rope while looking around to see if anyone was looking. I was making a nature call so able to catch a shot of him doing it.

Provided to race official who questioned him after the race. He said didn’t cut and someone is lying to get a better finish spot. Then claimed the photo was from a different day. This despite same kit and bike with the race number on it. Some people.

The GPS data and his "accounting of the course" reveal all... he made that turn, saw the congestion and used it as cover to turn around. Listen, one time is a mistake. Fourteen years of missed mats is a psychological issue and terrible ethics.

Can you explain how this works or how you're inferring a cheat - I thought moving VS elapsed meant that the watch was ticking along for 19:03 but the person was moving for only 17:53, implying 1:56 of rest or stationary time? I assume I'm missing something. Perhaps it somehow can indicate that the watch was paused while the person was moving?

he runs for 2 miles, takes a 2 minute break, then finishes up. i know a girl that will do mile repeats (we'll say 4) and completely stop her watch during the rest, so it looks like she did a 4 mile run at 530 pace, for example. people congratulate her for the super fast 4 mile run, "thanks!" she says. Elapsed time is 10 minutes longer.

In the comments Drymax socks comments that he has no relationship with the company.

Damn, it’s not often you see a Master & Margarita reference in a running post. Also Patrick Willis is definitely a cheater, judging by how much he protests and posts old running results.
