I'm vaccinated and boosted but it is common sense to wear a mask in a crowded space when the levels of new infections is still high. I started wearing a mask again and the beginning of the omicron spike and I will stop when it get back down to a middling level. The vaccine clearly and unequivocally (especially when boosted), protects against serious infection, hospitalization, or death but with this strain is less effective at protecting against infections. I have a young child at home who is at risk of pretty bad fever-induced seizures and can't be vaccinated due to her age. I don't want her to become infected (not so worried about myself).

Why? It is pretty useless now, If you are afraid, just get vaccinated.
