I travel a lot, I'm on the road right now. I like to take photos, so I go all sorts of places. I've noticed a real trend in the last ~10-15 years or so, I see packs of young American women in Europe, Central America, Mexico, etc. Almost never guys. Some couples, but rarely ever a pack of dudes just out traveling. I assume the dudes are at home playing video games, I dunno.

Hey, if you're a young man (21-25) and got nothing going on, head to Europe. You'll either score some American chick you meet there, or better yet, a European woman. They're far more attractive than most American women, and don't have the attitude.

You are just talking about extremism. I knew a kid in high school who was a bowler, and he wasn't good at anything in life except for that. He used to walk in the halls as if he was holding a bowling ball and about to begin his approach. THAT was too much involvement. You could call ANY intense involvement a "religion". There are football fans who are extreme. I know a guy who carries a buckeye in his pocket every single day of the year and a silver bullet also (nickname of the Ohio State Buckeyes defense). He's extreme. What qualifies for you as a "travel religion"? 2 vacations a year? 3? I have a friend who hates to take any vacations at all. He'd rather just take a 3-day weekend here and there, and his wife is the same way. They are a good match.

Someone can like to travel and not be part of a "travel religion". I've been in every state but Hawaii and Alaska, and I do plan to get to Hawaii some day (not sure about Alaska). I like to travel. I'm certainly not part of any "travel religion".

Whether you travel isnt that important, she was just trying to find out who you are as a person from the attitude in your response. Asking about travel is just something to say. Example of a reply that likely would have gotten you a response:

"I havent been travelling as much as i'd like to yet due to college commitments and the cobid sitauation, but its definitely something id like to do more of in the future if i have the funds. Alaska is about as far as i've been yet, but i love looking through travel brochures and at maps of places I'd like to go. Florence in Italy with all the art gallleries would be incredible. Yes I'm actually shocked at the amount of people whove never traveled. They're stuck in the same boring place all their lives. It's as if they don't realize there's a whole big world out there. I'd recommend travelling to everyone, at least a few experiences in your adult youth. Life is worth living that way.

I'm equally shocked when I find people who only travel to Disney or to a resort island where they haven't actually experienced any sort of real culture from that place.
