I learned in my life to keep my mouth shut until necessary.

I'm no more expert than the Spanish federation and coach that manage their runners.

They are not enough stupid to fall in your arguments.

And figure that it's almost 2 week that "Mohamed Katir + Doping" is in my google searches.

I try to filter anything.

When Jakob ran against him at 3000m at European Indoor in March, he simply jogged the whole thing and sprinted the last 200m. He was never worried about Katir (who finished 4th). Now, all of a sudden, he can’t keep up.

McSweyn is even further from keeping up with Katir.

Katir was a 3:36.59 guy last year, who had never made a Spanish team.

To put things into perspective, Eric Holt is a 3:36.6 guy. Do you think that Jakob is worried about Holt? Do you think that Holt will be running 3:28 next year?

I think Jakob is confident. He is not running against Katir in the Olympics. And before Jakob got sick, Katir was right behind him at the 5000 in Firenze when Jakob had to close the gap to the five in front. He did so with a 59.7 lap and Katir couldn't follow him.

Dont know if anything else is at play, but you guys are sleeping on those ASICS METADISTANCE D0 (I think). That's a SPIKE ON STEROID - there must be what... 40/50 carbon fiber microspikes on that outsole. The traction must be phenomenal. They will sell it for $250, atm its just on sale in Japan (I think). Same shoe i think Elish McColgan ran sub 14'30" the other week

We've got an amazing new track in downtown Madrid, a WR track in Valencia, Olympic Stadium in Barcelona, ok tracks in Zaragoza, San Sebastian, Nerja, La Nucia...yet, they hosted the event in some southern Madrid suburb that has a track loved by sprinters coz it's effing concrete.

I live in Madrid. The tracks absolutely suck. There are far too few of them, they are far too hard to use.

Yes, I meant Vallehermoso. It's very good however, they've got this policy that only allows to run on Lane 1 every other month. That track is World class.. apart from Vallehermos, you are right the rest of the tracks in the outskirts of Madrid are terrible. Palomeras, Vicalvaro, SanSe, Getafe...Fuenlabrada...

Probably zero. Spain had the strictest lockdowns in Europe. WADA couldn't get to elites let alone nobodies like he still was.

He said himself his improvement came when he was 'cloistered' during the lockdowns.

didn't stop him from the positioning himself to be in the tv limelight in either italy or monaco when he broke the previous spanish records. he was the first one to Jakob Ingebrigtsen and hugged Timothy Cheruiyot like a teddy bear. english not required. Still didn't shake or elbow-bump with McSweyn who stuck around to catch his breath and see a couple of runners through.
