She is really dumb. She didn't even know that it was prohibited.

Why was she so quick to admit she took drugs, accept responsibility, and also accept her suspension? Nobody ever does that. And this is marijuana. She could simply say she was in the room with other people that were smoking.
Something's very fishy about this.

After being initially shocked but eventually convinced about the Michael Jordan “secret suspension” theory, I have to say this one is plausible. Without meaning to put words in Sprintgeezer’s mouth, he makes a point that certain progressions do not seem to happen except with PEDs. I would add that you almost never see sprinters winning by huge margins unless they are doping. (Remember Kellie White?)

Because that was the deal. She is lucky, and she knows it. She has been given a good second chance, because she is still young.
But she is growing up quickly.

What are you referring to? Can you post a link?
Never mind. Found it.

Bro her mom died. If your mom died and you found out from some rando, your concerns over your upcoming race feel a lot less important.
Not a good enough reason to smoke pot because your mother died. Most people don’t do that let alone Olympic level athletes who know it’s a banned drug. Stupid move.
Losers do though.
Anyone else think Sha'Carri is coming out ahead on this? For Letsrun audience, missing the Olympics is devastating, but the greater population has no idea who is on the team. Sha'Carri hasn't behaved disrespectfully or controversially (assuming weed smoking isn't controversial for you) over the past week. I'd wager that this built her brand and her earning opportunities are greater because she failed a drug test than if she had been on the Olympic team.
Chris Barnacle was a man ahead of his time . . .

I thought this was funny: after Shacarri's win at the 2019 NCAAs, I remember her disrespecting Aleia Hobbs in a post race interview. Actually, it was pretty mild. But anyway, guess who got the 6th spot for the 4x100 relay team instead of Shacarri? Aleia Hobbs!

Bad move for USATF.
It contributes to the unpopularity of the sport.
Putting in her on the relay would be a spark to ratings.
More eyes on the sport. More money.
Dummies.
So you're saying that the rules should be more like guidelines?. You can adjust and or change them as you go?. For example; elite star athletes can pretty much do what they want with regard to PED/drug use. While everyone else has to follow the rules until they reach star status?
Hmmm... Really? Are you really THAT STUPID?

at the very least it should not be totally wada legal to race drunk or perhaps even to have drunk alcohol the last couple of days before racing, if they want to pretend their ban on weed is other than bogus.
