I’m not arguing that Hocker is a better running than Wightman or Kerr. In fact he is objectively not. That said, My level of surprise of Hocker were to beat both of them at the Olympics would not be extreme. In fact I see it as a perfectly reasonable possibility. If he were to beat Jakob I would be floored.
No I am just stating that you said they closed the last 200 in similar times only problem is Hocker would already be three seconds back on Kerr and therefore miles behind
Hocker was running in a race that was 5 seconds faster so would still be 2 seconds up. We can't actually compare two races apples to apples it is asinine. I do, however, think it is sort of fair to look at absolute top-end speed at the end of a tactical 1500.
Perhaps we can agree that all of them have surprisingly quick closing speed compared to their PRs, Hocker especially so.
