Alright, hold on a minute. This guys offers the weakest "apology" possible, and you guys are tripping all over yourselves trying to treat him, his brother, and Frank Meza like the greatest guys in town?

Remember, this is a District Attorney (well, supposedly; I'd put the likelihood that this poster is really Scott Dominguez DDA at 50% or lower, but I'll proceed as if it is really him) who originally said:

OK, that last one sounds scarcely credible that it would come from an actual DA, but it is by the guy posting as "Scott Dominguez", which is in any case the guy some people seem to be wishing only the best.

OK, so that establishes that the guy was an unpleasant douche-bag who was proven to be completely wrong. He probably didn't have the foresight to see where things were headed, and how dumb he'd end up looking, when he originally sprang to Meza's defense. Eventually, because he holds a somewhat prestigious and public role, he felt the need (or was pressured) to apologize a little bit just to cover his butt. Now let's examine that apology:

- he starts out by with "Score one for the internet trolls"...wait, this is an apology? Can you possibly sound any more passive-aggressive? It sounds more like, he's being forced to apologize, but he can't quite squeeze out anything sincere.

- he continues in the same vein with "no way in hell am I reading the past 100 pages, I have better things to do". As in, you guys are idiots and losers for doing this; I, the great Scott Dominguez, would never stoop to such a pathetic activity as a way to waste my time; but in this case you got lucky and were right.

-then he points out that he was actually kind of right anyway, because, while "we all make mistakes" (and so, it follows, none of us loser internet trolls are ANY better than 10-year race cheat Frank Meza - we're all sinners), he's STILL A GREAT GUY, just like I said before. Charity and stuff...

Am I even reading the same "apology" as you guys, who just lap it up and wish him the best?

My response to Scott Dominguez is, screw you. You were wrong, you almost certainly knew you were wrong (or else you're surprisingly stupid for a lawyer), but tried to bully your way through it. You abused your position. You should be ashamed.

Sounds like he is willing to apply extreme bias and do favors for his friends to the extent he can get away with it, then shine his image up when that fails. I think he should be fired. Then if he is a troll, aren't there consequences for doing that to the real Scott?

I said everyone knows his times are fake, now that this thread and derek has provided mountains of evidence. In hindsight, never seeing FM run fast at our practices could/should have made some of us suspicious, but we really didn't think much of it. Loyola at its core produces students of honesty and integrity. It is a great community. One assistant coach who didn't even work at the school is tainting its reputation. Loyola isn't perfect, but the school, its students, and its runners are not reflected accurately here by anonymous posters' accusations and suspicions.

I went through it fairly thoroughly and only found one person with an ... issue. Standing beside the course and then jumping in at about the same time Frank would have probably finished, based on his trajectory. However, this person is female and most definitely not Frank, and not claiming any OTQ/World records so I'll let it be. I can't even confirm that's what I'm really seeing anyway.

Hi Scott, I will assume you are who you claim to be and the "internet trolls" is ironic - I have seen what some others have said but I am on the side of those who appreciate you being big enough to admit that you were wrong. It strikes me that if we are telling Frank that a full admission is very much in his best interests then it seems hypocritical to shoot anyone who comes along with a mea culpa.

P.S. A quick browse through a legal textbook on libel and slander couldn't hurt next time (well I let you have "trolls").
