Really I can’t tell if some of you are simply obstuse, trolling, or illiterate:
From the link
“In 28 days, and in the same month President Donald Trump declared a national emergency in order to build a border wall, 76,103 immigrants without the needed documentation to enter the U.S. either presented themselves at legal ports of entry or were apprehended by Border Patrol between ports of entry.”
I will repeat v e r y s l o w l y
They p r e s e n t e d t h e m s e l v e s at legal p o i n t s o f e n t r y.
These are apprehensions. They aren’t hiding. They come here. Find a border agent. Say they want asylum. They are detained until their case can be heard in accordance with international law.
No wall will solve this.
Closing of the barrier will cripple the economy.
The solution isn’t something that can be done overnight.
There needs to be increased space for these people. Hell, temporary tent cities until structures can be built that can handle the annual increase that comes this time of year. Secondly, there needs to be better processing power....more judges, streamline the decision making process. Thirdly, why are they coming here in the first place? I’m not sure we can ultimately change what’s happening in Central America in terms of crime and poverty, we’ve been trying for years, decades even. But, some aid is better than no aid. These people simply want jobs and a better way of life. Can we possibly work out a trade agreement with these Central American countries, move some factories from Mexico to Central America. That way we get cheap labor and they get jobs. Maybe it’s past that point in that area, I don’t know.
