Realistically it could have been just about any other combination of things that happened, and St. Johns would have won. Unfortunate, for them, considering how well so many of their athletes did end up performing. A point here, a random performance by a kid from a completely different school there, and who knows? Maybe under the right circumstances Power could have even complained his way to 200+ points instead. For now, we watch with interest at those headed to last chance/nats. Several guys from the 8 should be racing in the next two weeks, although where and how fast remains to be seen. The 15 will be ruled by Brady Goss for years to come, the same can be said of steeplechase. Iggy with a clutch performance to seal his spot at SPIRE as well, and possibly Deav. Who knows on the 5/10. Could be a long list of names, could be no one. With the heat, and the doubles, and the points scored and left off the board, it's unlikely that the MIAC will be well represented, and the number of absurd times that have already been run that are still somehow unsafe on the national scale. For now, we anxiously await the return of Mo Bati, our hero missing in action, that will liberate us from national oppression by the WIAC.
