Thank you for negating the silly comments about Valby's competitors not congratulating her. Your friends claimed that was a criterion for suspecting doping.
To get away from the children content to argue about her doping or not, for a minute, Gen Talent brings up a point about competition. Competing on the track in the summer would make sense if either turning Pro or being a middle-distance runner (who mostly suffers through XC season). She is obviously good at XC (hence the reason for this thread) whereas 800/1500 perhaps not so much, so it would be taking away from her prep for NCAA XC. Not sure the tradeoff would be worth it for her, unless making a National team, even for 5000/10000m. Currently there a number of older women who are (and will/should be in the next few years) faster than even she is likely to run before she graduates. Granted the pool isn't large - should really be more US women at under 14.40/30.40 (but that is a separate matter).
Quick return from a devastating injury, most muscular physique I've seen in a female distance runner, absurd progression after plateau in college. It's staring you right in the face, but you just don't want to believe that doping is so prevalent in our sport. It's the NCAA so she must be clean, is that right?
That's not the reason. I don't agree with your comments about her physique or her progression. If she's doping, it doesn't show.
So you're just willfully ignoring evidence to protect your innocence? People dope if there is incentive. In this case, there clearly is a large incentive. You seem to be clinging to the idea of a clean sport. Naive.
It's amusing that mods are just now starting to delete Tuohy posts when we can have 30 pages assassinating the character of another college runner. Amazing.
