There seems to be a Rowan runner who has had enough of the whole Seth fiasco. @RowanCleanSport on Instagram (which is an account focused on bringing more awareness to the Seth situation) posted a screenshot of an email they sent to both AD Tucker and Coach Dimit. In the email, there is a Rowan runner who is quoted.
• On Internal Communication: "I don't fault Tucker simply because I don't think Dimit is being honest with him. Dimit is a very shifty guy, and he'll tell you what you want to hear. About a week before the Letsrun article came out, I walked into our gym to the two of them talking about Clevenger. After I got out of earshot I listened and Dimit was trying to claim that the rumors were being spread by Hopkins because they were jealous. Tucker asked if he was sure because he was 'getting a ton of emails.' So like I said, I don't think Tucker is being told everything." • On Team Reputation: "It's a shame that there is a negative image placed on both the team and the university, especially when my teammates have done nothing wrong. It's good we have people like you who try to do the right thing." • On the Program Atmosphere: "Dimit and Clevenger treat this like it's a joke." • On Prior Recruitment Red Flags: "Clevenger is mainly at Rowan due to the fact that no other D1 schools would take him. The known schools that rejected him are Ole Miss, Georgia, Duke, NAU, and Saint Joe's." "Saint Joe's coach...reached out to Sudbury [lowa State Head Coach] about Clevenger, but was told what had happened, and denied him a spot on the team." • On Coach-to-Coach Verification: "I can also share with you that Sudbury and Dimit have not spoken at all."
Props to this Rowan runner who decided to speak out.
Hot take, the current situation is primarily the Rowan coaching staff's fault.
In my opinion, they cared more about the team points SC was worth and a team title than the wellbeing of this athlete. He is a kid who very obviously made some big mistakes, yes. The coaches made it so much worse by enabling this and not coming out in a meaningful way to protect their athlete(s), program, and reputation whether or not the allegations are true. Their vow of silence while continuing to race him in the face of the entire sport (and now mainstream media) calling for transparency was irresponsible and made everything so much worse for him and the school, not to mention the competitors.
Through negligence, greed, or both these coaches and school(s) played a big role in creating this situation. While they technically didn't break any rules, Dimit and whoever else on their coaching staff who enabled this should also be held accountable and responsible for allowing someone to become the most notorious name in the sport for the sake of a couple points. I hope it was worth the trophy.
Nailed it. Any of the actual storied D3 programs would have had their alumni up in arms over this. ADs and school presidents would be being heavily pressured into firing the coaches over it. Rowan lacks that sort of class.
They took in a known cheater, intentionally asked zero questions to cover their asses, to win a national meet because they can't beat the real programs without it.
Feel free to correct me if I am wrong here, but isn't the Rowan coaching staff the entire reason the Atlantic Region doesn't exist in XC anymore?
Rowan was getting belted when it was the Atlantic and wanted their team to have a better chance so they convinced the NCAA to split up the region into 2-3 different ones?
All this talk about the Rowan coaches not giving AF about someone who is doping coming on so they can win a trophy made me think of that. These guys don't give AF and will do what they need to so they can have a chance at any sort of hardware.
Dimit was the lead author of the D3 NCAA’s realignment plan for regions in cross country which started in 2021. He purposely watered down the Metro region to give his team the best chance to qualify for Nationals. Funniest thing is Rowan hasn't qualified as a team since realignment despite being in the weakest region.
RIP to the old Atlantic Region
Looking at the Midwest before the move... It was needed. WIAC, CCIW, U of C, WashU, probably some schools I'm forgetting all in the same region was absurd.
Didn't seem like it was truly necessary anywhere else.
Clevenger does not come across as sympathetic, but the real villains are the coaches who are knowingly taking advantage of him, at best disregarding the spirit of the rules, and are also harming the reputation of the entire team.
What a shame so many young adults are being let down by supposed adults who are meant to be their guides, their mentors, and their coaches.
What I find so weird is that they would do this for a D3 indoor title. Like really? Did they just not think this would blow up once people did the slightest bit of digging? I'm sure I'm not in the minority when I say I had never heard of Rowan University before reading Gault's piece and I'm sure this whole situation has done pretty severe damage to the university as a whole. I again have to question the thinking. A D3 indoor title?!?!
Back when Salazar's "gray area" doping was first being widely talked about in 2015 I remember Letsrun was asking athletes about it. There's a great interview with Chris Derrick at that time where he tactfully goes in on Salazar (and probably Galen, Mo, and a few others in that association) by saying something to the effect of "we're not sociopaths looking to compromise our beliefs to bend the rules as much as possible for performance." Unfortunately it seems there are plenty in the sport who aren't like Chris.
Why not? What real consequences do you expect them to face? Rowan is neither a prestigious academic or athletic institution.
It's sad that Seth James DeMoor is no longer the number one Seth talked about on Let's Run. A changing of the guard, I guess. Things were better when controversy was about a snowy 35 mile run around a Trader Joe's parking lot.
If Seth had not competed, you guys still would have been 3rd at indoor nationals! Please rejoice in this fact, and do take care of yourselves.
This is also sort of what I don't understand about guys like Rajahn Dixon carrying water for Seth in a bunch of IG replies. Seth being a cheater doesn't make Rajahn any less of a champion. Why are you meatriding the guy like this? For what?
When the team championship ultimately gets vacated, a lot of people like him are going to feel really foolish. And that's so unfortunate, because the adults in the room here (Dimit, Tucker) absolutely failed them and should have known better from Day 1.
They don't have the self awareness to feel that. They will feel like victims of an unfair NCAA judgement. They will say "who cares, we won"

What people are missing is that Seth’s lawyer says there is a criminal investigation into the email access. That’s an admission that the email was actually accessed as opposed to a fake email being made. So at least one email is real. That means this is not going away until the NCAA invokes 10.1 or Seth voluntarily takes a year off. The running community simply can’t tolerate it less it become Lance world 2.0. He’s still a young man and will be forgiven once he takes responsibility and sits out, but it is so messed up that adults around him enabled him to disgrace and embarrass himself like this.
Another thing about what his lawyer wrote is that it very carefully said:
“Seth Clevenger is not taking and has not taken drugs to enhance his running performance.”
That’s him more or less saying “he didn’t take drugs to become faster, but rather to recover from his hip surgery”.
Devil's advocate for the lawyer (Seth is absolutely guilty) simply saying "Seth is not and has not taken drugs" would be ambiguous on alcohol/other non performance enhancing drugs.

It's almost as if an international news story – covered by a Barstool guy with 1M followers, Indian and Vietnamese papers, etc – gets multiple people to read and comment on it.
Editor’s Note: This article has been updated for accuracy. Seth Clevenger, a runner in Rowan University’s Track and Field program, won both the 3000-meter and 5000-meter events at this year’s NCAA Division III Indoor Track an...
Why, exactly, were these other students stepping off the podium in protest? It was in response to allegations that Clevenger — a transfer from Division I Iowa State University who joined Rowan this spring — used banned substances in the fall of 2025.
One teammate told LetsRun.com that Clevenger admitted to using the peptide BPC-157, which helps with healing in muscles. Peptides are banned under NCAA rules.
Another claim reported by LetsRun.com said multiple packages labeled “EPO”, another substance banned by the NCAA, were found in Clevenger’s fridge in September.
Erythropoietin (EPO) is banned by the World Anti–Doping Agency (WADA) because it unnaturally increases endurance by improving oxygen transport to the body.
Ex-teammates claim that Clevenger’s admission to the Iowa State coaching staff led to his suspension in October 2025, according to LetsRun.com, shortly after the Nuttycombe Invitational at the University of Wisconsin.
Clevenger finished 19th overall in that race on Oct. 17, 2025, the first and only race that year before Iowa State University suspended several athletes for violating internal rules.
The university never publicly released the names or specific reasons for suspension, in compliance with FERPA — a federal law protecting the privacy of student education records — but his sudden absence from team events suggested his involvement. Records can only be released publicly if a release form is signed by individual students.
The Whit attempted to catch up with Clevenger, but wasn’t able to set up an interview before publishing this article.
While Rowan Athletics hasn’t addressed the situation publicly, Director of Athletics Shawn Tucker, in an email obtained by The Whit, reached out to student athletes regarding the incident.
“Recently, there has been an increase in frustration towards one of our student-athletes and the department after securing the Indoor National Championship. Demanding (while defaming) that certain outcomes occur due to allegations stemming from his time at a previous institution,” Tucker wrote in part. “Despite university statements on the issue (compliance with FERPA), chatter has intensified over the last 24 hours. To be expected when you win.”
Tucker mentioned he would be speaking with the entire track and field program at a later date.
“Please know I’m aware and mindful of how these allegations and false narratives can frustrate or dampen the mood for our student-athletes, the track program, and our entire department, especially after a monumental achievement. We are supporting Seth and absolutely here for you ALL.”
Hearing from reputable sources that the whistleblower was Rowans top freshman from this past cross country season. I’m also hearing that the coaches are heavily considering kicking him off the team. Ironic, isn’t it? Speaking up for what’s right is apparently what it takes to get kicked off of Rowan. The Rowan athletes are very upset with this freshman for exposing their “glorious king”. Wowzers… Seth must be absolutely loving all of the brown-nosing that his teammates are giving him.
A. How does this even happen unless someone went through freshman’s phone or he talks too much
B. Is UW La Crosse or Johns Hopkins looking for any Rowan exiles right now?
I don't think UW-L or Johns Hopkins are in desperate need of 16 minute 5k guys. Rowan is not a strong distance running program.
We may soon lock this thread if it is just a few people posting back and forth to one another. Threads are not meant for 2 people to insult one another
