Johnnies & Cobbers with a Bethel thrower or two in the mix. I’d be surprised to see anyone else score in the throws. Maybe that one Scholastica dude that isn’t Trent.

It’s conceivable that The Future could win the 1500, 4 x 800, and steeple. I don’t see any reason he couldn’t be in the mix for a win if the 5K is super slow. It would be a lot, so we probably won’t see him in the relay.
Prediction- the Cobbers outscore the Oles and the MIAC Championship and NCAA Championship. Maybe Garrick should replace Chunko.
Cracking up at the idea of Garrick and Erica having to coach together.

The Cobber coach is an Ole, so it makes sense they'd have meet management issues. Do they use Fast Finish like Chunko?
Chunko was yelling for Oles to help move hurdles to speed the meet up and he let someone walk a 100m. Seems he doesn't have his priorities straight and just enjoys been an azz.
I don't like Power but the stuff people say about him on this thread in an effort to insult him is downright silly. What was he supposed to do? Carry 4 hurdles? Wrangle the sprinter off the course?
Why don’t you like him? I find all this to be crazy. He’s always cool to talk to at meets, so I’m curious.

He’s a pretentious know it all who lucked into a job at a school that has national class athletes just show up. Not to mention how consistent he is in any action that only benefits his ego and sometimes his team. So many MIAC coaches are invested in what is best for the MIAC and willing to work together on things. Not him.
Now Chunko is trying to get the 5K moved due to the heat. Surely he’s not doing this because that’s an event the Oles should score the most points in. Can’t wait to watch him double and triple his top people and watch them crumble in the heat like Will Kelly last year.
God forbid a coach runs his athletes in not one but TWO events!! Surely no other coaches in the MIAC would ever do such a thing!!!!
Not that it will help, but he might as well try move the steeple and 1500 to Wednesday and Thursday too. Give his guys plenty of time to rest.
I fully expect him to do something stupid like putting Turlington in the 1500, 10K and 5K. And Iggy 1500, 4 x 800, Steeple, 5K.
Sometime he'll realize his athletes aren't Fiona or Wilkie.

Bro is going to lose his mind when he reads the meet info and sees teams have to camp outside. I’m sure he’ll raise a big stink so his precious Oles can sit in the AC between being out kicked.
This doesn't really make sense, wouldn't all athletes want to be inside. I feel like these rules he's allegedly proposing are for the benefit of everyone.
All of the negative commentary toward Power is rooted in jealousy, but mostly it comes from the same two or three people repeatedly posting under different screen names. One of those is a St. Olaf student who was not allowed to join the team for a very valid reason. Sometimes his mother, a local Northfield teacher, posts as well. The other claims to be an alum of the program, but it is difficult to imagine someone wishing to trash their own school, simply because 6 years ago their favorite high school coach did not earn the coaching job.
Honestly, my advice for Power is to hire a lawyer to gather the IP addresses, which are not anonymous, of everyone posting on this thread and prior MIAC threads and sue the individuals for libel. There is a fine line between friendly conference rivalry banter and douchebaggery.
The reality is that Power has a history of developing his athletes significantly and producing competitive teams. Those who actually take time to speak with him know that he is a great coach, and his athletes respect his training. St. Olaf is a excellent school with a strong academic reputation that lends itself to recruiting great student athletes. Other schools are welcome to improve their academics, admission standards, recruiting and overall coaching to field more competitive programs.
While I don’t think any D3 program should reject people who want to run I don’t really care.
Several years ago, the conference changed the 1500 to finals only in attempt to get better performances and qualify for nationals. With the forecast and the talent in the race all needing a national mark, this race could be truly epic. How many guys cab run sub 3:50? Will this match the heyday of Ole/Tommie/Carl nostalgia? T
Hey, Nik here, don't need to hide behind an alias (like the person that made this post)
I'm 99 percent sure that I am one of the people you mention in this post. No, I am not a sad sack of sh*t that posts anonymously under different aliases to talk about my school's xc coach, but the stuff on this forum is certainly entertaining to read. Additionally, my mom has never even heard of this site, and if someone needs to take legal action it's me (why are you stalking my mom?). I'm proud to be an ole, the team here is clearly filled with talent and are all around cool dudes, and I'm feeling good about my development as a runner.
If the person that made this post is who I think it is, you are an incredibly sad little man.
Peace
Some interesting moves in the entries. My favorites -
Roy & Kaluza converting to the 10K. As someone else predicted, Edwards used his Ole Open 5K for this.
Steeple/doubles from scorers non-Future Goss & Kaluza. And no steeple for McKee.
The Gusties and Mac look to be loading up their 4 x 800. But wait, the Oles have some guy from their Drake squad not entered in the 800 and the Johnnies don't mind doubling. This might be the race of the night.
Turlington looking to jog the 10K for points rather than attempt to qualify for Nats in the 1500m. And everyone plans to run the 5K, including Lars. Will be interesting to see who can run the fastest last lap as this will be a jogfest until Gabe breaks away. Will Turlington or Stencel be able to reel him in?
Also looking forward to some great sprints showdowns. The heat will be a boost for sprinters and jumpers that have suffered in crappy weather all year.
The 200m battle between Arthur, Parent, and Nelson will be a national level race. Arthur’s meet record is 20.68. Could it go down? I’m hoping Parent/Nelson challenge Parent’s 20.68 record.
As for the 100, did anyone notice Liu is entered?! Add him to the 3 others under 10.50 and we’ll see some magic.
Will Bethel stack a 4 x 100 to qualify?
I’m also curious to see how well the Cobbers run without huge winds at their back. I expect them to have massive PR’s 400 though.
The long jump has improved tremendously since Indoor and six guys have a legitimate chance to jump over 7 meters. The Johnny and Ole need to step up if they want to challenge the sensational Cobber freshman. He’s the best jumper in the MIAC since Lichttenegger, but he has long ways to go to catch Leonard Jones who’s at the record of 7.70!
The javelin setup is not ideal, but the Degen/Hayes duo have a chance to the challenge the MIAC record.
Other records in danger - 1500, 110 hurdles, and 4 x 400. I think steeple will fall next year and I don’t expect the 5K to be fast even though Turkington has run faster.
And don’t miss the women’s 400!
Unconfirmed sources declare Jingy my GOAT to pace the 1500 through 12 at 3:45 pace.
