For me as I have said the coach is the issue. No coach who doped in his pro career suddenly develops a sense of ethics when they start coaching other athletes (eg, Nick Johnson, Riis, Bernal, etc). They doped to gain acclaim as pros and they will encourage doping to gain acclaim as a coach. Never fails. So when a coach so deeply associated with Schumacher and BTC and Dr. Brown coaches an athlete that has a classic BTC style progression, it is just too coincidental and potentially repulsive to ignore. Again, why did no one raise a stink that a guy like Solinsky is coaching a D1 program. People understandably balked at the idea of Schumacher going to coach Oregon. So why does his protege get a pass? Why is it OK that BTC's malignant influence is allowed to infect the college ranks? We have already seen an indirect offshot of it with Huntington University. And for those who say that's hating, when you hire a doper as a coach you hire the skepticism and cynicism that follows should he start coaching athletes that suddenly pop off just like the pros do on the pro teams they are affiliated with for the reasons we all know.
