But Flagpole, we have a problem. Cohen said yesterday that he never wanted a White House Job aka Chief of Staff. Both of Trump’s sons refutted that and made fun of him. Now, you can believe who you want to believe. But if Cohen is lieing about a question that is real simple to answer; what makes you think the rest of his testimony will be accurate? Do you just pick and choose what you think is accurate? Personally, I think Meuller and Dems need to find a stronger witness.

Any of those might do it. Plus there are some we are just learning about like insurance fraud. And there are many you didn't mention like money laundering, wire fraud, and other RICO-related charges.

Individual-1 is a prolific criminal. There are many possible charges that could be prosecuted, emanating from many different local and federal jurisdictions.

Let's say that there evidence of crimes committed by Trump. Mueller has already indicated he would follow Justice Dept. guidelines of not indicting a president. Would the SDNY not abide by these Justice dept. guidelines and instead issue an indictment or a subpoena to appear before a Grand Jury? Even if it did, Trump could appeal the indictment or subpoena all the way to the Supreme Court. I think the only way for Trump to be removed is by impeachment by the House and conviction by the Senate.

In order to get away with that, you need people, especially in the military, to support and back you. If Trump loses in 2020, I'm not worried at all about him overstaying his welcome in D.C.

RICO, tax evasion, gifts from foreign powers, treason, money laundering, obstruction of justice, and malfeasance or something similar for spending taxpayer money improperly (to lock up children, etc). It’s endless, what they could convict him on.

I'm surprised no one has posted about the North Korean summit yet. I was up late last night and heard the press conference live. Reading between the lines, it didn't sound like there was any path forward towards denuclearization, or any real progress made at the summit. Trump insisted they ended the summit on good terms, but if that's true, it seems a little odd that they cancelled the lunch that was planned. My guess is we won't hear about North Korea again, at least in the first term.

Yes, and now we have the same fear from someone who knows the president well.

Nobody should believe anything Cohen says unless it is corroborated by other hard evidence or other witnesses.

Cohen's testimony is valuable in that it provides a lot of leads to follow up on. The documentation Cohen provided is even more valuable than his testimony, because it corroborates parts of the testimony.

What stronger witness? Everyone who has dealt with Trump is a crook. Sadly this is what is giving the GOP cover right now in protecting Trump. It’s a warped situation right now, we have a president who is clearly rotten and wants to be above the law. He’s gone against all convention and has broken all conservative principles as well. The bar is just that low... as I’ve said and so have others, Trump will always have a minimum following on the right by default (just like the left), the question is how much damage is being done to him with these waves of problems he’s brought upon himself? A heck of a lot is my guess based on the last time the people voted. How is he ever going to manage to get 46% of the vote again?

Oh and talk about bad deal making, after giving Kim all that 1st grader praise and appeasing him on the global stage Trump goes home devastated. Yuge fail.

And before any trumpers attack me for not wanting him to do well let me remind you that it isn’t some of Trump’s basic ideas that are bad, the problem is his horrendous execution and decision making. He is incompetent and has been unable to surround himself with good people who can get the job done. Shocker.

These are just guidelines. They are not the law. Yes, it would get appealed and SCOTUS could probably go either way.

But we already know that a president can be sued for civil matters as happened during the Clinton administration. So why not criminal matters as well?

Also, state crimes would not be under the jurisdiction of the DOJ and states don't have to pay any attention to DOJ guidelines.

It sounds like you have a lot of expertise with foreign affairs. Could you go into detail about Trumps discussions with Kim and what mistakes he made?

True. I think it's unlikely he would be successful. But it doesn't mean he wouldn't try it.

He would say that the election was rigged and he should still be the president. Then it becomes a matter of who you can convince. What would SCOTUS say? What would the generals say? What would R's in congress say? Would there be violence in the streets?

It would be utter chaos.
