Take away his drugs, and he wouldnt be as much of an anaerobic freak. 3.34 or 3.35 would pull him up,and he wouldnt be world class at 5000. And he'd run about 7.35 in the 3000.Oh yeah, and he'd never be competitive in 10k races.
He hasn't yet run a super quick(for him)5000 meters,so we dont know just how fast he could be.Also depends on what you call world class. Do i believe he could run a sub 13 minutes, clean? no.
Which athlete do you think is clean in your eyes my dear Jeff????
And you believe Ingebrigtsen is doping, don't you?
All of your posts are removed, Army - the best what can happen.
But it doesn't change anything. It's not bad that you have agreed to me, since it was correct what I have written.
I agree with nothing you have said. You also failed to notice most of your own posts and a number of others who indulged in personal attacks have also been removed.
You and they do not understand this is not a fan site. It is a forum for discussion which allows considerable free speech. That means you will have to read opinions you don't like.
Your questions show you are little informed about the history of doping in the sport and the role it plays today. It is everywhere. Like most fans, you don't want to have to think about it.
Being in "good shape" in order to become a great athlete is so obvious it doesn't need stating. But it doesn't mean, as was claimed, that running requires at least 10 years of training to be any good. Ryun was a world record holder at 19.
What really matters is who has trained best over a long period of time. Average athletes can be doped to the gills.
If you are at a world class level throughout your childhood and youth, it would be idiotic to start taking peds.
Have you been taking peds yourself? For me, that would never be an option.
I haven't taken peds.
What makes them effective is the difference they will have for athletes of similar ability. A mediocre athlete will be better than their peers. A very good athlete will be the same. Jose Canseco said "doping makes an ordinary athlete good, a good athlete outstanding and a top athlete invincible."

Everyone is "little informed" because there is little information about the role doping plays in elite distance running. Whenever I ask for more information, I'm told there is no information because it is all covert and secret.
You do so like to lie. You aren't told that. We may not know which individual athletes are doping, because the practice is covert, but that does not mean we don't have information about doping in terms of what is being used, by whom and its likely effects. There is nothing secret about the fact that doping is throughout sports and has been so for several decades. It is like any other black market or form of corruption, we may not always know the individuals involved in order to nonetheless understand it can be widespread. That is the consensus of antidoping but which you choose to blind yourself to.

Amen amen amen amen multiple times to that darling!!!!
You speak like a true savant and we really complement each other really well being that I'm an RF savant!!!
Although we differ on our views about Jakob doping, however I'm completely aligned with you that most of the rest are doping and hence doping very widespread!!!!
I sense that WADA is on the verge of giving up hope on this matter.
Yes, it was a race where Hocker ran the second fastest 1500 he's ran in his life. He was several seconds behind Jakob when they both had the same circumstances. Not bad effort for a race that didn't matter.
If anything a race that "doesn't matter" should be a better way to determine who the fastest runner is since it's all about time trialing and not running a tactically sound race.
And why didn't you answer the question for why Timmy finished 11th at Paris despite having ran a 1:45 this year?
Because Timmy was clean duh!!!!! A clean athlete's lose rate in a modern anthropogenic RF era, not so much in El G's least anthropogenic RF one, is very high. You saw how hard it was for Josh KERR to repeat his Budapest victory in Paris losing to Hockerdope???
Jakob is also darn clean as his lose rate is almost 100% in major championship finals!!!!!!!!!! Of course he keeps winning all diamond league races but all his major losses more than cancel out all his dozen diamond league wins. You lose 4 of the most important finals is equally to wiping out 12-16 of your least important diamond league finals. I'm happy with Jakob's lose-rate to say he is clean!!!
Timmy is clean so his lose rate and his performances fluctuate very much in accordance with anthropogenic RF personal environmental exposure.

Why would I take anthropogenic PEDs and drugs???? I'm a 100% organic and fundamentally principled man, you feeling me sir???? I take tumeric, sage, lemongrass, ginger, watercress, cabbage, carrots, milk, cacao, cinnamon, cauliflower, sustainable beef, sustainable fishes etc. Why would I need drugs sir??? I criticize all drugs in this world even a simple Panadol or Paracetamol or Nurofen or Amoxcillin not to mention Covid vaccines!!!!!!
Anything that is man-made, I stay very far away from it!!!!!! Any human being born of the modern city and continues living there all his life I also avoid him or her and put great distance between my body and his/her. Except for preaching the gospel of Christ salvation, I don't tend to mix around with the millennials or city-dwellers as they are extremely perverse and filthy human beings!!!!!!

That's great, Khamis!!!! You don't seem to need any peds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In general, I think it's the failures who dope, and not the most talented and hardworking.

Why would I need any PEDs sir??? I'm no high performing athlete either. Yes you are right there or thereabouts. Galen, Mo and Centrowitz the trio of obvious dopers were all failures in the beginning to mid point of their career before suddenly becoming gold medallist and beating all the East African studs like Tariku Bekele, Kenenisa Bekele.
The most talented ones like Kenenisa Bekele, Haile Geb, Paul Tergat, El G, Morceli, Seb Coe, Josh Kerr and Jakob all didn't need to dope. Most were from low anthropogenic RF east or north african nations or otherwise if they were white they were only from the 1980s and never from the 1990s or 21st century. Jakob is the only exception. However I don't consider Jakob anywhere near GOAT level yet!!! So I'm not sure if I can include him in the conversation with the real GOATs.

Armstrong is a precious gem on this board sir and I hope you are not showing condescension to a man of wisdom, knowledge and understanding as Armstrong in doping matters. Rekrunner is on the other hand the complete opposite of precious gem.

It is a peculiar intellectual deficiency to keep maintaining, as you do, that one agrees with you who repeatedly insists they don't. It seems "no" always mean "yes" to you. But not to most of us.

It's here, in this thread. Go back just 2 or 3 pages. There you HAVE agreed to me. No problem that you have forgotten about it, but it's there. Just go back and see for yourself.
Khamis is literally one of the stupidest, most clueless posters ever to grace this discussion board. Kerr’s crushing defeat in Paris due to Hero Hocker has sent him off the deep end for good.

Yes. In contrast, Murray Halberg and Ron Clarke were some 800m forces with 1:51 speed. This speed enabled Halberg to finish 5ks ss fast as the best today.
Halberg's best distances were the 2 mile/5k. Because he wasn't as fast as contemporaries like Elliott and Snell, the mile wasn't his best distance. In that regard he was similar to Ingebrigtsen, in that endurance was his greatest strength - and so it was for Clarke, although he had less speed than Halberg and no finishing kick, unlike Halberg. In fact Halberg probably had a better kick relative to his competition than Ingebrigtsen does.
Halberg's training was: 100 mpw of continous runs at easy to moderate speed for 3+ months. Then 2 months of "Hill bounding" 5 days per week, long run and easy run on other 2 days. Then short track speed sessions, easy runs and racing for 2-4 months.
Compared to today's top runners training the Lydiard program was much easier (except for the 100 mpw block).
Comparing 1960s runners to today's is to much like comparing apples to oranges.....
