Taylor ran an impressive race. Best of luck to her.
No she didn’t. 2:29 isn’t good. Especially if you’re going to complain about Chicago not offering an appearance fee. She proved them correct today. Just because the contenders didn’t try for most of the race doesn’t make her run impressive

Really hope Hassan runs the marathon against Obiri and Assefa rather than on the track in Paris. No doubles, no triples, just get all the recent major winners together in Paris rested and ready to run.

It's how long and how close you are to the winning pack, you fool. So Obiri didn't run a good race either, right?
If the pace is slow and you get dropped immediately when they contenders make a move, you don’t get credit for staying with them when they weren’t trying
Sorry no. I haven't seen someone this blatant since Rita Cheptoo.
What is it about Obiri’s performance that makes you so riled up? It was a slow pace on an ideal day. She beat Lokedi (not a big deal) and Kosgei (not what she used to be) and then outkicked Gidey (happens to Gidey all the time). None of that is surprising.
As a coach how would you go about fixing the Viola Cheptoo's debacle?I thought she would have been in top 3 today.Clearly she was in shape. Is it a case of fixing her racing strategy? Or is it a case of doing more endurance work? Or was the transition from 1500m to marathon too fast? It's obvious she has the talent and plenty of speed.I can't quite put my finger on where exactly the problem is.As a coach I like to explore some of these performances by unique athletes. Any ideas out there guys?
