Funny, I did see a guy running the Crim who I thought was Kip, but when I didn't see him in the results I figured I was mistaken. Now you got me wondering.

Kip WAS at the Crim. I don't know if he ran, but I saw him afterwards with his sister, who was an age group winner this year.

Kip, sockpuppeting is one thing, talking to yourself is quite a bit more weird.
Kip's sister came to town and decided to run Crim while she was here. I'd guess she ran the entire course and didn't 'kip it.' Mr Kip on the other hand, most likely did not run 61 or 62.....but I didn't see him at the race so I can't attest to his actual performance. If he was in 61 shape, you can bet he would have lined up and ran the entire thing with a chip so he could announce that he is as fit as can be.

I've been seeing this thread for months, I just checked in enough to get the basic idea that it was about a habitual cheater. Then today I read the New Yorker article. Wow. This is a remarkable story, I really wish I had followed this thread from the beginning. Should I read through it or does the article suffice?
I ran side by side with kip today, cruising at 6:10 pace for 4 miles, then he slowly faded in front of me. It was a struggle for me, but kip was barely breathing. I have no idea if he cheated, but I can't imagine him having any trouble knocking out a 2:55 marathon.
my guess is that kip was a decent 19min 5k runner during the cheating years, but now that he entering his 50s, i wonder if he could break 20mins
