Men

1. Cortland - I'm running out of witty hyperboles to describe their safety atop the region. I will strongly disagree with whomever said they'll score 22 points. I expect 30-40 for the Dragons at regionals.

2. Geneseo - They could very well lose to NYU. However, They're not going to get blown away. The Blue Knights know the regional course. They are going have experience running races with/against Cortland; NYU (hold Jesse Schneider)might get caught up in the fast pace that Nally and company usually help set, whereas Geneseo is always well disciplined. But, these are all smaller details. It's going to be close. I wouldn't be shocked by a repeat of Regionals '05 at Rochester.

3. NYU - We might not agree on where they finish as a team but we can agree it is easier to give them the credit they deserve now that Abdalla has graduated. I just can't put them ahead of Geneseo right now. NYU will get a boost because the quality of runners between 2-12 is so good I don't see a runner from Geneseo who can get in there unless someone pops a race. That is a large deficit, in my opinion, because Schneider is my pick to earn 2 points.

4. SLU - Love them, hate them? Pro Ramsey, anti Ramsey? face it, they're going to nationals. The looked strong at Oberlin. They have the home course advantage. Despite the fact that they didn't make the dance last year they peaked well, I don't see why that wouldn't happen again. Mark Burnham, a great 800 runner, just had a good race for them. Don't be surprised by a big contribution from him on Nov. 15th.

5. TCNJ - I've spent a lot of time giving The College of Guerriero, er, I mean New Jersey, a hard time but they are looking better. Guerriero ran very well at Williams. I've been mentioning that they need Rodkewitz to show up if they have a chance at nationals; his trajectory heading into championship season should be encouraging for the Lions. There was mystery surrounding's them last year up until the last minute and they turned out all right.

6. Ithaca - They'll pack up their second and fifth runners in the 30-50 range. I'm picking Drew Hodge to have a big race as their number 1 but even his best race won't get his team into the hunt for nationals.

7. Rochester - You can fit their pack inside a hula-hoop, it's so tight. I'll paint their prediction with the same brush I used for Ithaca minus the part about a front runner.

8. Plattsburgh - There are so many P-state lovers out their I couldn't resit being a hater. I do Like Heymann, though. He'll do big things this year. As for his team, they went along way in resurrecting that program this year. A good early season was necessary in order to get respect and confidence but I have a hunch it was too taxing on a young team. Next year they'll be good.

9. RPI - I liked what I saw from them out in the midwest.

10. Fredonia - If you look at past regional results the tenth spot is always open for a team based around one strong front runner, i.e. Plattsburgh with Deshane in 06 and Hamilton with Kosgei in 07. I believe this is one of those cases.

*TCNJ should be cheering for SLU at Saratoga this weekend. As Mikejones999 said they need to avoid an upset at the hands of a New England team in order to help our Atlantic region get the five teams we deserve. New Enlgand, Pff, damn those maple syrup drinking sons of bitches!

Same girls, relatively the same times. It looked to me that Cortland ran everyone at PSU except Hollborn who I mentioned before has been expendable this season. Other than that Dalton had a bad race.

On the other hand, after further examination, Geneseo looked better than I originally thought this weekend time wise. They packed it up with Iafrati, 4 girls at 18:40 or better is 4 girls better than 22:40 on a slower course than PSU with less competition. Their 5th is better than 23:10 too.

Mark my words, Geneseo will put 4 before Cortland's 2nd in 11 days and again at regionals.

In your attempt to make Cortland sound like a weaker team you use LaSalle. You make LaSalle sound like a weak team by saying they lost to ITHACA. On the same course...in the same conditions...on the same day...at the very same meet (Paul Short) trying to prove (in a mathematical sense of the word) that Cortland is a weaker team...the only problem of course is below...Cortland ran faster than the team you're using to try to prove that Cortland is a weaker team...that’s the beef...its a fundamental flaw in philosophy/arithmetic

I have no idea what you people are thinking! Cortland girls ahead of Geneseo? Areyou out of your minds?!? Lets just take a look at Cortland's roster > the only girl I see is Andi Palen, she is the only consistent runner who performs well at every race or actually is racing.

I haven't smoked shit since my days back on the farm my lad...I have to correct you though while its true that I have no life (and I've always been quite forthright about that particular aspect of myself) I do know plenty of people running in the AR as well the coaches who train them...so please forgive me for voicing my opinion on something I care about

Cortland-really could score 15

Geneseo-To much depth, Regionals will not go this well for this over rated team

Fredonia-a bird told me Yerne is done, and that is all Fredonia needs take 3rd, with Williams being one of the few that could break up the Cortland sweep

Plattsburgh-will still be very close to Fredonia and may even come out on top, I don't see Heymann beating Williams by more then one or two places

Oneonta-Pampena and Nicholson will both beat ports number one giving them the boost they need to take 5th

Port-Over rated all season, badly need Manktelow to put it together and finish in the top 10

That is essentially all the competitive teams.

So for SUNYAC's:

on a fast, flat course:

top 2 are a lock

1. Cortland (tight pack in front)

2. Geneseo (team will look better than with more runners at regionals)

3. plattsburgh (likely) Heymann will put up a good fight

a toss up, giving fredonia the edge because Williams

4?. Fredonia: a strong #1 gives them the edge over O and B-port) A course Beck knows very well.

5?. Oneonta (could turn it on at Sunyacs)

6?. Brockport
