Of course you could throw further if rules didn't apply lolololol.
Confused by your objection. Fabris 5th round throw was just beyond Crousers best to that point. He fell out. Foul. Coming in Fabri hadnt even come close to 22m in his career. That was a 23m foul. Would have been a massive PR and a CR. He fouled. So almost.
No, NOT ALMOST.
The whole point in throws is that you need to throw your furthest without flinging yourself out of the ring or over the line.
It's just like in LJ. You can't just sprint down the runway, jump from wherever you want to a great distance, and say "oh I almost PRed if I didn't foul."
LOLOLOL something tells me you have never thrown seriously.
Hassan is claiming on BBC TV just now that she was pushed and that that was the reason she fell. Michael Johnson who comments for the BBC said that there was contact between Tsegay and Hassan which made Hassan fall.
Of course she's pushed, she frigging drifted to lane 2 for God's sake!
Hassan was doing her typical flailing, and while fading into lane two, Tsegay ran straight through Hassan's arm and her elbow contacted Tsegay's chest. Hassan lost her balance/rhythm/whatever, and went down. Simple as that. No foul.
She said she was pushed but also that "that's just sports".. BBC commentators just said there was contact which knocked her off her stride, and that there's no point in even trying to appeal even if you think it was unfair because it might DQ someone but it doesn't get you a medal.

We need a Zapruder film analysis please. Rojo, Jonathan, can we get a frame by frame break down of what transpired? My cursory analysis is that Hassan drifted in a desperate attempt to hold off Tsegay. It was going to fail and she was sent to get 2nd and then she just tripped over nothing and fell, or maybe trivial and incidental contact. Not that unusual an occurrence, but not common in this setting. If Hassan is claiming a push, that’s disappointing.

The commentators on the BBC are now pondering whether there's a case for Hassan to claim some kind of injustice and reparation? It's all theoretical of this stage of course but I mean what can they do? Paula Radcliffe is commenting now. Paula is saying on BBC TV that Hassan should forget about it and focus on her next event the 1500 meters and the 5,000 meters. Paula says it will not achieve anything for the Dutch Federation to put in a claim. Obviously we cannot rerun a 10,000 meters. On another note Paula Radcliffe still looks superbly fit.
That was Hassan’s fault. She was moving out to her right to keep Tsegay from passing her, then I think just panicked when she knew Tsegay was going to win.
Hassan was clearly going wide impeding, then got slightly off balance with the bump she caused and just tripped up on her own. Period.
We have seen her do this before when she starts tying up and drifting. In 2017 she drifted into lane 2 when she started floundering and Jenny passed her on the inside.
That was an amazing race by Monson. She represented her country very well.
So funny that a minor placing gets such praise in American distance runner right now.
Funny, it is like the 2010s "renaissance" is over now that Al Sal is banned for doping infractions, and Schumacher's squad has an active ban for their best runner.
Can American runners not get to the top if they are scared of the "grey area," just like Al Sal always said?
What are you taking about a minor placing? Top non-African, 5th in a Final, nailing what her coach expected her to race and executing like a pro. Three Americans in Final. It was awesome and my daughters loved it. To be that close to the World Record holder and greatest female long distance runner of all-time in Gidey is just an amazing performance.

Eh I am gutted for Hassan and she is the GOAT in my book, male or female, but she doesn’t need a 10k silver to prove anything to me. She could have retired after London.
